"No answer there either. We could try again in a bit, but I do have to get back to my route. How about you ride with me for now? Unless you'd rather keep walking."

She surely didn't want to keep walking by herself. That's why she approached Randy in the first place. So she agreed to stay with Randy awhile. They passed the time sharing short snippets of idle conversation with Randy regularly needing to hop out for a minute, deliver some mail, then return for another short chat before hopping out again. But being presented with the profile view of a bottomless girl every time he slid back into his truck was a little jarring. Randy's curiosity got the better of him and he couldn't help asking more questions.

"So what happened to your top there? That's a good rip in the shoulder. Sure seen better days."

"I dunno exactly. It was like this when I pulled it out of a bush."

Randy's voice went up again. "Pulled it out of a bush? Is that where you found that underwear, too?"

They'd been having a nice boring conversation up til then, but Randy's new line of questioning was mortifying. Sally racked her brain trying to come up with something she could say without giving away more of what she'd been through, but Randy continued before she had a good answer.

"What were you doing without a shirt, anyway? I thought you said you left home half naked?"

Sally did not want to tell Randy all about her misadventures in the park. It was embarrassing enough to accidentally admit to being completely naked, but if she kept trying to explain herself she might have to reveal that she let all those boys watch her pee as well. There was no way she could do that, and she didn't want to lie, so Sally clammed up. She cast her gaze to the floor as she felt her ears get hot.

Randy took the silence that followed as Sally admitting to fibbing. That put into question the rest of her story, but also suggested she may have left her house fully naked. It was quite a notion, and although he'd heard a story or two about the ditzy Sorenson girls, he always tried to give the benefit of the doubt. But it did indeed seem like this girl had a penchant for making bad choices.

"Didn't we already talk about not putting on clothes you found outside? All sorts of critters coulda been in that thing! Gotta say, we both know you shouldn't be wearing that."

Randy shook his head, amused as anything, and hopped out again to deliver a few more letters. This gave Sally more time to think, not that it helped. It took the whole time Randy was out for her to weigh telling the truth with staying silent. In the end Sally chose the latter. She'd rather be seen as dumb or careless than some weird girl who pees in front of people.

Carefully setting her envelope aside as Randy returned to the truck, Sally shamefully peeled off her shirt in front of him and tossed it onto the floor as well. She then retrieved her padded envelope, holding it over her chest, focused on covering her now topless torso and all but forgetting that she was equally bottomless.

"Atta girl. You can't be putting on abandoned clothing! That's just not right," he noted with a guilty glance, a naked little girl riding shotgun in his truck.

For a short while the butterflies in Sally's stomach and the goosebumps on her skin only furthered her sense of shame causing her to sink low into her seat, her envelope pulled up to her nose as she tried to hide underneath it. Though it took a few minutes of verbal poking, Randy started to cheer her up before long. It was when he shared an embarrassing story from a birthday party when he was her age that she started to turn around, about hiding a slice of cake in his shorts after being told he could only have one.

It was a tall tale to be sure, but Sally appreciated the funny story and found her way back to her regular cheerful self once they started chatting again. After another 10 minutes sharing silly stories and corny jokes she was so glad that she got to ride along with Randy today. She was about to ask if she could ride with him tomorrow when he came to an abrupt stop.

"Oh... Sally?" started Randy gently. "This is where Mr Heyat lives."

Sally thought that name sounded familiar when a lightbulb went off and she turned her padded envelope around to read the label on the front.

What did Sally do?
