Just do that on the page that you want to request the option of and save it. If you ever need to sign your messages four tilde symbols (~) is how you do so. Also, when responding to someone do so on THEIR talk page; that way they get a notice of the message. Otherwise it is hit or miss whether they notice you replied. I know it's a different format to get used to; but you'll get there. The short answer is, No. You are not doing it right at all. To make a request on a story that accepts them, simply edit the page by clicking the Edit Tab, and put the following code after your requested option '''(Request)''' --~~~~. That is all. What you did was to create a blank page with a comment about a request. Comments when creating and editing pages (in the Summary section) are very unobtrusive; and will usually go unnoticed. --Elerneron (talk) 11:11, 30 April 2019 (CEST)
