Just then... Once more, a voice from the shadows speaks up. "Wha' was that you two were doing?"
The whole family has a quiet dinner together like they do every night. The three kids can barely look at each other throughout the meal, but thankfully the adults seem to be too focused on their various conversations to notice.

Lucia and Filip spring apart like startled rabbits as Silvia strolls up to them. Lucia quickly puts her panties back on and Filip covers his crotch with his hands. "N-Nothing!" they both say in unison.
Lucia finishes first, and asks "May I be excused, papa?" He looks up from his conversation with her grandfather and nods. Lucia cleans up her dishes and takes them to the kitchen.

"Wh-What are you doing out here??" Lucia demands. "How did you even find us back here!?"
Returning, she pokes Filip in the back. He turns and looks at her. She clears her throat and flicks her eyes in the direction of their room, then to Silvia, then wanders back into the kitchen and starts cleaning the dishes from the day's meals.

"Uhh, mommy said to come find you and tell you to wash up for dinner." Silvia says. "An' I know'd this is where you two hide when we play hide and seek sum'times so I came to check it when I could not find you an'were else."
Filip seems to take the hint. He also asks if he can be excused, then nudges Silvia who does the same. The pair takes their dishes into the kitchen and hands them to Lucia.

The two look at each other, then back at little Silvia. "So wha' was it you were doing? You guys said it felt nice?"
"We'll talk later tonight. Just make sure to act natural or the grown-ups will know we're up to something!" Lucia says to Filip and Silvia.

"H-How long were you watching for..?" Lucia asks timidly. "The who'le time." says Silvia. "I saw you pull down his pants and tho' at first it was bath time, so I was gonna leave f'er privacy but then you did that stuff to him an' I wanted to know what it was so I stayed an' watched."
"Yeah, yeah. Don't worry about us, mother-hen." Filip scoffs.

Lucia swallows, trying to think of what to do now. "U-Um... it's a thing boys and girls do to show they like each other."
Lucia sticks her tongue out at Filip who does the same. Filip races off to who-knows-where with little Silvia desperately trying to keep up with the boy.

"Oh, okay." Silvia says. "It did look like fun!~"
"Those two are joined at the hip, I swear..." Lucia mutters under her breath as she goes back to her dish cleaning chore.

"B-But its a serious thing!" Lucia says, not wanting to give her poor little sister the wrong idea. "You don't do it unless you really like a boy!"
She finally finishes cleaning and putting away the dishes. About to head back to her room, Lucia bumps into her grandma on the way out of the kitchen.

"Does tha' mean you really like uncie, then?" Silvia asks. "I seen'd you doin' that with him before in our room one night."
"Lucia, dear, my bones are telling me it's going to be cold tonight. Can you take some blankets out to the stables and make sure the animals don't get too chilly?" she asks the girl.

Lucia's heart skips a beat. How long has she known..? "U-Um... Yes, I love uncie. But don't tell anyone we were doing that, alright?"
"Of course, nana. Don't you worry, I'm on it!" Lucia hugs her granny and head to the front door to do as she asked. 'I guess the talk will have to wait...' she thinks to herself.

Silvia shakes her head. "Uh-uh. I wouldn't. It's private time mommy said."
She grabs her shawl hanging up by the door and wraps it around herself, then picks up the family's one good hand held lantern and fumbles with the flint and steel trying to light it.

Lucia puts her head in her hands. This was getting out of hand. At this rate, her friends would find out eventually even if Filip didn't tell them...
Once she gets it lit, she heads out into the brisk evening, thinking her granny was probably right as usual about the night going to be a cold one.

Filip tugs on Lucia's arms, and she pulls her head out of her hands. "Let's goooo!" He says. "Mom will get suspicious and come look for us if we're late for dinner!"
