You slip out of the room and go into your bedroom to get dressed. You find a pair of shorts, but don’t bother with underpants. You just slip a tee shirt over your head before going back downstairs to find a pair of sandals in the hall. There are only four houses in your street, all on the same side, because the other side is just some grass and then the river. The river sometimes floods over the street so all the houses have special boards in front to keep the water out. The people in the other two houses go out to work all day, so you and Jenny are the only kids in the street, apart from her baby sister of course.
