Jason sits on the floor and plays with you while Mum goes into her bedroom to change her clothes. He teases you by pretending that he's going to keep Molly and you wrestle with him to get her back. When Mum comes back in, Jason's on his back and you're sitting on him holding Molly.

"I see you two are getting on all right then," Mum says and then she says it's bedtime. You'd rather play with Jason but Mum says he can help get you ready for bed. She says something to Jason you don't understand, but he follows into your bedroom. Mum takes your dress off, leaving you in just your knickers and your socks and then takes you into the bathroom to brush your teeth.

When you get back to the bedroom, Jason has been moving stuff about. He's put the toys back in their box and he put Molly in your bed. Mum opens the drawer where your pyjamas live, so you take your knickers off and get up on the bed. When Mum turns round and sees you sitting there with nothing on she stops and looks at Jason as if she's going to say something, but then she just comes over and holds them up so you can get your feet in.

You've never had anyone else but Mum do your bedtime story before, but she asks Jason to do it, so he sits on the bed beside you and holds the book open so that you can see the pictures while he says the words. He has to put his arm around you so that he can hold the book and you turn the pages and talk about the pictures. It's your favourite story about a hungry Caterpillar that eats loads of different things and then turns into a butterfly at the end.

When the story's finished, he hands the book back to Mum and you scramble into bed under the covers. She says something about being good and doing what I'm told them that Jason can call her if he needs her, and then she kisses you and they both go out, leaving just the little dim light that sits on the shelf and keeps the bogeyman away.
