Once you calm down, you decide that you've changed yourself enough for now. You unlock the bathroom door, and suddenly realize that you are touching things as though they were made of tissue paper. Shouldn't you be accidentally ripping the locks off of doors while you get used to your super strength? Instead you seem to instinctively compensate for your new powers. Why? You open the door with the same minimal use of power.
It comes to you as you're walking down the hall toward the master bedroom. If you have all of Superman's abilities, that includes his skills. One of those skills is compensating for his powers to fit in with the human world. You must have picked that up too. It makes sense. You are pretty sure that you wouldn't have figured that out this quickly before though . . . Superman is probably a lot smarter than you were though. You need to learn more about Superman.
You reach the door and look inside to see if your mother is there. You weren't certain if she went to her room, or yours; but this was the most likely of the two. Inside, your mother is nervously pacing the floor, still nude. It looks like she cleaned up a bit though. She looks up the instant the door opens.
"Chad," she says, throwing herself into your arms, "is Gwen okay? God I wish we'd been more careful. I hope we haven't scared her for life."
"It's okay, mom," you say. "I talked to her. She's going to be fine. It's a lot to process, but she'll be okay. We're safe too. She isn't going to say anything to anyone about us."
"Thank God she's okay." Hmmm . . . You really should pave the way for your relationship with Gwen.
"Come on mom, I'll fill you in." You lead her to the bed and sit down on the edge. She sits next to you, much calmer, but still a little nervous. "It seems like Gwen is in love with me too."
"Gwen," she says incredulously, "Gwen is in love with you?"
"Yes, she was surprised and jealous when she saw us together."
"That poor girl."
"Look mom, I know it's unconventional, but do you think you'd be willing to share me with Gwen?"
"Of course," she says emphatically, "but you shouldn't lead her on."
"Mom, I love you, but I love Gwen too. I know society says you're only supposed to love one person at a time, but that isn't a reasonable limitation. Life doesn't work that way. Can you accept that I love both of you, and not be jealous or envious?"
"Oh Chad," she says, "of course I can. Gwen is lucky to have an understanding man like you in her life." She kisses you softly. "And so am I."
How do you spend the night?
