The man leads you inside the lowest building closest to the road. It is covered in plaster and has a sturdy, wooden door.


The man opens it and you notice that it has no lock. Inside is a small mud room where you leave your shoes, followed by a simple but charming kitchen.

"When it began it was just Isabel and me in this here room" says the man in a gruff voice. Having removed his shoes and entered the kitchen he turns gas on a kettle and sits on one of two chairs.

The Casa

Nested in the mountains of Mount Tamalipas, Mexico I have built my paradise. It started with a one-room shack, but now it is the complex before you.


The one accessing dirt road winds steeply through dense tropical forest. There is never a need for anyone to follow it.
