Bob went to the bar and bought a bunch of ice lollies which the man obligingly wrapped in newspaper for insulation. As we went to walk away, I turned and waved to the little blonde; she waved back and I fancied that she was sorry to see me go.
When we got back to the family, the kids came running to meet us, demanding to be taken swimming. Eat your lollies first, Bob said.
