This is not a story ''per se''.  While it ''is'' a story, it is more of a ''game book''.  In the past, gamebooks were put out that were basically like Choose Your Own Adventure books crossed with a Role-Playing Module.  This story can be read like any old interactive story; but for those with the necessary interest and knowledge (not to mention books) they can play it as a Solo D&D Campaign.  These gamebooks were usually rather generic about the player character, but we will get a bit more specific to better tailor the game to the character type.  This means that the basic information about the character will play a part on how the story unfolds.  I will be using 5th Edition D&D Rules as the basis for the game.  (I actually don't really like 5th edition, but that's what my group is playing; so those are the rules I have handy).  You will choose your race, class, sex, age, and alignment using the wiki; but create the rest of your character at home.  <s>I leave alignment (and all moral choices) up to the player/reader.</s>*  I will start with just the races and classes of the Player's Handbook.  Once the rules for this story/game are posted, others can add any additional published races and classes.  I will likely only follow one character for a while as I build the story.  Fair warning; I will probably tire of this after a while and it will be abandoned.  I never intend to do so, but all of my projects seem to go there eventually.  Let's have fun until that time.

This is not a story per se. While it is a story, it is more of a game book. I leave alignment (and all moral choices) up to the player/reader.* I will start with just the races and classes of the Player's Handbook.

* I decided that it would be too difficult to cater to all alignments, so the game will also be separated by alignment. --Elerneron (talk) 17:38, 7 March 2020 (CET)
