Fey Magic

The fey have a unique form of magic that derives its power from the natural world.

  • Source: Magic Skill (Innate). The power is a type of magic, but the character cannot simply learn it. The character must be born to it. It must however also be mastered, and has a range of 1-10. Levels 1-9 roughly equated to a level of power equal to the same level spells from the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. Level 10 denotes an extremely rare mastery that is nearly divine. Magic is mystical, and therefore useless in areas with no magic.
  • Benefits:
    • Magical Effects: Fey magic can be used to cause a variety of magical effects.
      • Glamours: Fey magic can cause illusions. These illusions can affect any sense, depending on power level. These illusions can also cloak a target in a field that doesn't permit them to be perceived by one or more senses (invisibility field, stealth field, etc.).
      • Emotion Control: Fey magic can alter the emotional state of others, causing them to experience emotions that are determined by the caster.
      • Sleep: Fey magic can put a target into a deep sleep. Very powerful fey magic can make this sleep semi-permanent like the fairy tail sleeping beauty. Such a semi-permanent sleep must have a condition through which the target can be awakened.
      • Weather Control: Fey magic can affect the weather.
      • Animal Control: Fey magic can summon, command, heal, and augment natural animals. It has a lessened effect on mystical animals.
      • Plant Control: Fey magic can animate, heal, grown, and augment plant life.
    • Fey magic requires no materials, words, or gestures. It only requires an act of will.
  • Weaknesses:
    • The maximum strength of fey magic is determined by their environment.
      • Pristine Nature: an untouched glade, the deep forest, etc. No Change.
      • Natural Environment: a forest, lake, plains land, etc. -1 to level.
      • Cultured Nature: a field, a large park, a road through a forest, etc. -2 to level.
      • Minor Civilization: a town, village, or small city park. -3 to level.
      • Civilization: a small to medium city. -4 to level.
      • Major Civilization: a large city or blighted lands. -5 to level.
