Thanks!
It's great this page exists now, ASSTR is a wonderful writing site and it's so horrible it's gone now and people can't add new works there. --Cum Girl (talk) 10:11, 4 November 2022 (CET)
No problem, I've been thinking about creating this page for a while. It really is a shame that it's gone. I know a few authors are continuing to write on archiveofourown.org, but it's definitely not the same. --Hgcollins (talk) 10:20, 4 November 2022 (CET)
I think we can also link archiveofourown profiles if they're on this list, so people can see their recent works (if any). Not a big link, just something like "(AO3)" next to their name. --Cum Girl (talk) 11:04, 4 November 2022 (CET)
Short description?
I think it would be worth it to have a short description of each author and what they specialize in, to help people looking through the index figure out what writers they should look more into. And of course others can edit the descriptions if they think it needs correction. --Cum Girl (talk) 10:21, 4 November 2022 (CET)
Yeah, I was thinking that might be a good idea. But I don't want things to get too overloaded either. It might we worth turning them into drop-downs like on my author page, but I'm worried that might be a little too confusing for some people. I think if we add descriptions, it will have to be super short so it's still easy to browse. Maybe just common story codes? Check out the updates I made and let me know what you think. --Hgcollins (talk) 10:29, 4 November 2022 (CET)
I think those are great. Nice and short to not clutter, but provides some basic information. --Cum Girl (talk) 10:59, 4 November 2022 (CET)
Aliases
I've added aliases to the list, so if an author goes by a different name or is better known for a certain series of theirs, that people searching the list can still find them. --Cum Girl (talk) 11:31, 4 November 2022 (CET)
Broken ASSTR archive
I found http://107.191.101.145/ftp.asstr.org/pub/Authors/, which used to be an active (if outdated) archive of ASSTR stories, but it's now dead. Just fyi in case it's useful for anyone. --Cum Girl (talk) 12:11, 4 November 2022 (CET)
