You are very excited about going to Hogwarts, so you decide to read The Secret Guide to Hogwarts and find out what it can tell you.
The book is almost a century old, but Hogwarts itself is far, far older than that, and so any actual secrets contained in the book are probably as valid today as they were back then, unless they’ve become common knowledge. The author was named Garreth Weasley, a pureblood wizard from a minor but well known family.
There is quite a lot to the book, with chapters on many different parts of the School and it’s grounds. You decide to flip through the book in the first instance, as you can always come back and read more on a particular area if you want to later on.
The book has chapters on each house, including passwords to enter the common rooms for Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw houses (but not Gryffindor, as the Weasley author belonged to that house). These passwords are probably many decades out of date, but some of them are regarded as being “traditional” so they might be worth trying.
There is a chapter on the Dark Forest, as well as a chapter entitled “How to Find the Room of Requirement”.
After that, there are several chapters on Quidditch, involving tactics, stories of great games, and dirty tricks. These chapters don’t interest you that much.
You decide you want to read the section on finding the Room of Requirement right now, but that you can come back to the other sections.
What section do you read next?
- Secrets of the Dark Forest
- Secrets of House Slytherin
- Secrets of House Ravenclaw
- Secrets of House Hufflepuff
- Secrets of Quidditch
A final chapter catches your eye to read later though:
