Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup
Helga Hufflepuff was the founder of Hufflepuff House, and one of the four original founders of Hogwarts. Her cup was rumoured to have all kinds of magical powers, but despite the powerful enchantments placed upon it, you never discovered what they were.
You found the cup in the possession of a Hepzibah Smith, a foolish Witch who treated it as little more than a magical ornament, which she believed to be a family heirloom. After you murdered here, you kept the cup for yourself, recognising it’s true nature. She also had the locket of Salazar Slytherin. Such a fool had no right to such treasures.
You later transformed the cup into a Horcrux, keeping a fragment of your soul hidden deep within it. So long as even a single fragment of your soul remains in existence, you can never truly die. For this reason, your Horcruxes are your most precious of possessions, but you also try to keep them hidden and separate from one another.
In the case of Hufflepuff’s Cup, you keep it hidden in the Lestrange family vault at Gringott’s Goblin Bank in London. Only Bellatrix Lestrange, one of your closest allies, is allowed to enter the vault, as she is the sole surviving member of the English side of her family. Bellatrix has told you that the cup is safe in vault number 51, and that is enough for you to trust that it is there. Later, you may check on it in person, but for now, it is secure.
