I don't really have any personal preference in relation to setting or character's family, but thinking about it raised another potential question. I originally thought that maybe it would make sense for MC to be a schoolkid, but I'm not sure how MC being ignored by everyone would play into parent/child relations. Maybe it would make sense for MC to be an adult, or maybe you could make it work within the confines of rules you've given the character if he or she was a kid. Maybe it's something that would be interesting to explore? I don't know, depends on what kind of story you want it to be. --[[User:Innocent Ruin|Innocent Ruin]] ([[User talk:Innocent Ruin|talk]]) 22:18, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

Shunned

So, I'll be starting a new branch of PIP soon. Shunned will see the character suddenly ignored by everyone. They will act as if he/she is not there; and will not react to any actions that he/she takes. This will be understandably distressing for the character, but the benefits will eventually become evident. I would like to begin a discussion on the story before I line up the cast of characters and start writing. So what kind of person would you like the main character to be? What would you like their situation to be? What would you like to see in the story? Any other comments? I'd really appreciate any feedback you guys might have. --Elerneron (talk) 15:02, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

Interesting idea. It would make the most sense to have a kind of character who takes pleasure in the idea and tries to take full advantage of it, someone who tries to look at the situation logically. Not sure if having a character that would just instantly panic would fit a story that is erotic in nature. (Assuming that the story is erotic.) It would also be interesting to know what limitations are there to protagonist's "power", or "curse". Can the character make people notice protag in anyway, can protag touch them et cetera? I feel like there should be some caveats. No commentary beyond that.

Edit: just to clarify, when talking about limitations it's also important to make distinctions between people taking notice to the character directly, and taking notice to his actions. Let's say he touches someone and he got away without anyone noticing; would the same thing happen if he shoved someone? Would they notice him, or would they just notice something happen without knowing what to attribute it to? Similarly, to which extent can the character interact with objects? Those kinds of questions to think about. --Innocent Ruin (talk) 19:17, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

Hmm, not sure how the shunned power would work in this story. If the MC is completely ignored by everyone, then how does the MIB (whatever the organization is that's tracking the incidents) know about them?

The concept right now seems too similar to "The assassin's rings" story. -- About Chronos, since no one responded, you can have it be a standalone story, and link to it from within this story. It's its own standalone story, but takes place within the PIP universe. --MrPib (talk) 20:08, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

The power/curse is going to work like this basically: No one notices the presence of the MC and sees nothing unusual about any actions that they take. They will subconsciously cooperate with the MC without even acknowledging his presence. The effects of his actions can, however, be noticed. For instance, the MC could walk up to a mother and child walking through the mall and put his dick in the kid's mouth. The mother and child would stop and the kid would start sucking his dick, but neither one would think anything of it. When he was done, however, the mother could notice cum on the child and have a fit.

I haven't read "The Assassin's Rings" yet. I barely have time to patrol edits these days let alone read them all. I didn't mean to copy someone else's idea by any means. And the way that the Agency will acquire the story is already planned out to some extent. It will be evident once I know what kind of MC and family we are dealing with and therefore make the first page.

Old Topics

The Chronos and Fate entities both sound interesting. Chronos can be hard to get right, so I'll be interested to see your take on it. There's a game that does it really well called Life is Strange. As for suggestions, I believe my default is ...a 9 year old boy... --Jackmaster (talk) 13:44, 11 November 2018 (CET)

I meant suggestions about different powers I could explore; but rest assured, there will be a choice for a main character of a similar age and gender that you suggest (it will probably be 10 though as I like even numbers.) --Elerneron (talk) 13:54, 11 November 2018 (CET)

Ah ok. How about The Siren Entity - an incident where a ___ discovers that everyone around them falls madly in love/lust with them. Or The Virtual Entity - an inceident where a ___ discovers the power to upload people to their virtual world...

I added slightly edited versions of your suggestions and another of my own. Open to even more, people. Even if I don't get to them first, there is a chance I will get to them eventually (depending on demand, and my ability to work on them). --Elerneron (talk) 18:53, 12 November 2018 (CET)

. . . and I added two more I thought of, last minute. --Elerneron (talk) 19:13, 12 November 2018 (CET)

If this is still open, how about the Vanishing Entity... gains the power to not be noticed by all senses (sight, sound, smell, touch, etc.) --Purre (talk) 22:11, 14 November 2018 (CET)

Added (slightly modified). Also added two more of my own; and changed the format to a bit less cheesy. Voting will likely begin tomorrow, so get the last suggestions in before then y'all. --Elerneron (talk) 14:58, 15 November 2018 (CET)

"Codename: Jumper/Phaser - the power to jump/phase between multiple realities"? I'm aware you've got quite a lot, and will only be Abel to work on one at a time, but that idea sounded good... --Jackmaster (talk) 16:13, 15 November 2018 (CET)

Sorry about not including the multiverse thing, but I want all of these stories to happen in the same reality. Having someone that jumps between them doesn't fit very well for later when the stories begin to come together. (The reason this is late is that I had just gotten off a double shift, and only had time and focus enough to do the poll.) --Elerneron (talk) 13:35, 17 November 2018 (CET)

I can't figure out how to vote on this poll. I make my selections, but I don't see an 'Apply' button... and if I leave and come back, my votes are erased. --Purre (talk) 15:50, 17 November 2018 (CET)

Try refreshing your browser. Sometimes the polls need a kick in the pants to function properly. You should see a yellow highlight when hovering over the selection if the polls are working properly. --Elerneron (talk) 19:14, 17 November 2018 (CET)

If the person who voted for Chronos twice reads this: The second vote needs to be DIFFERENT from the first choice. This allows me to give the highest level of satisfaction to the most people. Otherwise there is no point to the second poll; and I will have to disregard it. Please take your vote on the second poll back and choose your SECOND favorite concept. --Elerneron (talk) 05:14, 18 November 2018 (CET)

Thanks, refreshing worked like a charm. --Purre (talk) 20:45, 18 November 2018 (CET)
