Bardic Magic
Bards learn to use sound, rhythm, and harmony to vibrate magical energy to create magical effects.
- Source: Magic Skill. The power is a type of magic. It must therefore be mastered, and has a range of 1-10. Levels 1-9 roughly equated to a level of power equal to the same level spells from the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. Level 10 denotes an extremely rare mastery that is nearly divine. Magic is mystical, and therefore useless in areas with no magic.
- Benefits:
- Magical Effects: Bardic magic has a limited range of effects compared to other magical forms.
- Illusion: Bardic magic can cause illusions. These illusions can affect any sense, depending on power level. These illusions can also cloak a target in a field that doesn't permit them to be perceived by one or more senses (invisibility field, stealth field, etc.).
- Emotion Control: Bardic magic can alter the emotional state of others, causing them to experience emotions that are determined by the caster.
- Sleep: Bardic magic can put a target into a deep sleep. Unlike fey magic, bardic magic cannot make this sleep semi-permanent.
- Mind Control: Bardic magic can affect the mind of a target. They can control a target's actions, alter their perceptions, even change their memories when they become very powerful.
- Magical Effects: Bardic magic has a limited range of effects compared to other magical forms.
- Weaknesses:
- Bardic magic requires the use of the character's voice and a musical instrument to cast.
