"Oh!" he says. "Lolita is a character in a book... She is a twelve-year-old called Dolores and in the story, she travels around America with a middle-aged man who pretends to be her uncle. He is infatuated with her." He thinks for a minute. "This is a well-known quote... She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock. She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on the dotted line. But in my arms, she was always Lolita."

"Yes, the book is banned in a lot of places," he replied. "But people do have sex with children as you know." He smiles knowingly.

"Well, sort of. Lolita has changed from just being the name of a character in a book to a description of any sexy young girl. I want you to be a lolita to entertain my friends tonight."

He sits down on the bed and watches you strip off. "I don't think you're quite as skinny as you used to be," he says with a smile. He hands you a pair of knickers if you could call them that. They are just a small triangle of flimsy material held up by some elastic that would go over your hips if you had any. You put the suspender belt on and then he tells you to sit on the bed while he gets down on his knees and helps you put the fish-net stockings on.

There's a frilly white blouse, very low-cut and almost transparent, and a black skirt that's so short that it barely covers your bottom. "There are a couple of old friends from my days at the seminary coming for a visit," he tells you, "I want you to dress up as a maid and serve the food and drinks to them."

On the evening of the party, some men in a van deliver the food and drink and you help Father Brown set it up in the front room. When it's all to his satisfaction he tells you to go upstairs and get changed. When he follows you into the bedroom you think maybe he just wants a quickie, but then he shows you the clothes that he bought. "I know they're a bit strange; just think of it like acting a part, like Lolita," he says.
