Have a chat with Luana

← Back

“C’mon Uncle John! let’s play!” called the twins, grabbing you and dragging you further into the house.

“Girls, girls!” you said, trying to break free, “I need to have a word with Luana first,” you explained, letting them go. They shot you once last pleading look, before grabbing Diya and running into the house, forgetting about you the moment you were out of sight.

“So, wanna check if I’m sticking with my punishment?” said Luana in a soft tone while she lifted the rim of her dress to almost give you a peek underneath.

“What?” you asked, quite surprised, “No, no, nothing like that,” you assured her.

She just laughed, letting go of her skirt. “I’m just teasing, sorry. But seriously, thanks for what you did for Diya, I owe you one,” she added in a relaxed way.

“That’s what I need to talk you about,” you said, pointing to the two notes still in her hands.

Her face turned serious at that, “What? wasn’t it enough to expose my sister? What else do you want?”

“No, what are you…?” you said, surprised at her change in attitude, “I didn’t… she changed in the bathroom,” you explained.

“Really?” once more Luana’s appearance changed, this time showing surprise and perhaps some shame, “I… well, thank you.”

“She’s a good girl, and has suffered enough, so I didn’t wanted to put more on her shoulders,” you explained, “but I was only able to do that since the boy you threatened was also being punished. You understand you cannot do that again, right?”

“I’m not gonna let some self-righteous piece of shit abuse my sister,” she answered with anger, “and I’m not waiting for them to do it so we can ask you to punish them,” she insisted, “or is there anything in your guidelines about bullying?”

“Calm down, Luana,” you told her, a little worried her voice had reached the playing girls, but apparently they were too busy playing, “I’m on your side, I really want to help you, but I’m bound by the rules, and if you do something like that again, I will have to punish you… and Diya.”

“But you bent the rules this time, by allowing us to… by not forcing us to… get naked, right?” she asked, “you could simply do that again…”

“Luana, I’m going to ask you not to make me choose between Diya and my job,” you told her in a calmed voice, “I can’t tell you Diya would lose, but regardless, I’m sure my sister and I would be forced apart, and I really don’t want that.”

Luana kept quiet for a while, before lowering her eyes, “I’m sorry,” she finally said, “I just want to protect Diya, I don’t want her to suffer like I did, she’s not… she’s strong, but… she’s so…”

“guileless?” you supplied.

“I… I guess you could say that,” she half-agreed, “can you really protect her?”

Now that was the real question. “If you tell me the names of the bullies, and what exactly they do, I’m sure I can punish them, but I can’t promise you it’ll be as hard as with the Fine boy,” you saw Luana made a face at this, so you continued, “but I can assure you it will only be more trouble if you intervene. There was an update to the rules, and now forced impregnation is on the table…” you said, letting that sink in.

“What? They couldn’t… you would’t… right?”

“After all they’ve done, is it really that hard to believe?” you asked, and you could see a shiver ran down the girl’s back, “that’s why I ask you again not to do something like that again, I really don’t want you or Diya in my office again.”

The teenager looked at you and just nodded. “Thank you… I… you’re a good guy, better than most on this town, at least.”

With that said she turned and walked to the kitchen, avoiding the room where her sister and your girls were playing. You felt kinda bad, but it was better to get things clear. As sick as this town was, Luana and Diya appeared to be on the healthier side of things, and who knows, you might really be able to stop the bullying.
