The electric hum of hair clippers buzzed from beyond the bathroom door. Louise wrinkled her nose in confusion, then edged closer to it.
"No! Too loud! And too scary! And I can't ever use something that sound so discordant!"
Louise noticed that the door of the bathroom wasn't locked. In fact it was open just a crack. She crept closer until she could get a good peek inside. Gene was completely naked, standing on a footstool and staring back at himself in the mirror. Due to the angle, Louise couldn't see what he was doing, but he was clearly fiddling with something around his hips.
"Hmm, this could get bad," she said to herself, "Gene might be useful but things always end up messier than when we started." She hesitated, then looked back at the hallway. There was still time to change her mind.
