JOURNALS

Henriette, the writer of this journal, is a bloodthirsty Vampire who enjoys gory violence and killing. Reader discretion is advised.

HENRIETTE'S PROFILE

  • AGE: 10
  • SEX: Female
  • RACE: Breton
  • HEIGHT: 139cm
  • WEIGHT: 32kg
  • HOMETOWN: Helgen
  • BIRTHDAY: Evening Star, 18th
  • BACKSTORY: Henriette used to be just a normal, growing girl living in Helgen with her family, ignorant about most of the world's problems. Her father was a Blacksmith, while her mother was a housewife. She also had an older brother who was going to inherit his father's business when he got older. Henriette herself mostly helped mother around at home, learning the craft of housekeeping for when she would eventually grow up, marry someone and start a family of her own. This all ended when on one fateful day she was kidnapped and taken away from Helgen by a group of Vampires. From there, the strange path of destiny leads her down a path of sin and debauchery unlike anything she even thought possible.
  • SEXUAL EXPERIENCE: Henriette was a naturally curious girl who knew about the birds and the bees, where babies come from, all that fun stuff. She first started experimenting with her hand at the age of eight and the first foreign object at the age of nine. She loves sneaking around and peeking at places a little girl shouldn't probably be seeing, and she has some exhibitionistic tendencies too.
  • COMABT SKILLS: She knows how to draw a bow and shoot an arrow, and she's pretty good at it. Her mother used to be a butcher, so hunting is in her blood. Henriette has never taken down anything bigger than a rabbit, but her field dressing expertise goes as far as to preparing a deer. Despite being a Breton, she's got little to no aptitude for magic, and she's not good with sword and daggers either, but she's a fast learner and athletically gifted.
  • OTHER SKILLS: Henriette is well spoken and educated, a very charismatic young girl. She's a good liar and very persuasive, but she's not very intimidating due to her small stature. She's good with her hands and likes crafting, cooking and alchemy. She's no good at Enchanting though.
  • HERITAGE: Henriette's father was a Nord native to Skyrim, while her mother was a hunter hailing from High Rock. Henriette has inherited nearly all of her racial traits from her mother.
  • RELIGION AND POLITICS: Henriette is very much an apolitical figure. Her family was unaffiliated as far as the civil war goes, but they were somewhat sympathetic to Stormcloak's cause. She has inherited her religious views directly from her parents and at the start of the story is a believer in the nine rather than eight, which is something she got from her father. The father saw Talos as a god, but didn't think much of it beyond that and lived more or less a secular lifestyle. Same could be said about the mother, who was never a fan of the Empire ruling over High Rock, especially not after the great war had ended which resulted with the Thalmor gaining political leverage over the Empire. Henriette's mother was also a believer in religious freedom of expression. That being said, none of them want war or necessary even align with the Stormcloaks ideologically. They just want for the peace to return to Tamriel.

AUTHOR'S PROGRESS REPORT

I recently had to do some big hardware updates to my rig. Along with a new SSD also came updated OS (another thing I've been delaying, but for completely different reasons), and new complications when it comes to running a heavily modded game. Using my old files was impossible, so I thought, why not just start from the scratch? What could go wrong?

I got into some issues trying to get my new game into a working order. It was frustrating to the point that I honestly felt like giving up completely because I started running into new problems with the most basic shit I have never had to deal with before. It was never perfect, especially when it comes to all mods that require heavy scripting, but it almost never crashed to desktop, so it was playable.

However, I'm also very stubborn, and don't like losing.

I found my solution in an unlikely place. I assumed that my problem had something to do with Sexlab or a mod dependent on it since the in-game installation / configuration made any save unloadable, but the culprit was actually some sneaky compatibility patch between two mods completely unrelated to Sexlab. How did it cause problem for that mod, I do not know, it makes no sense to me. It's just so stupid. One of them did add some NPCs so could be some fuckery with that. I don't care, I won't be touching it again. Regardless, fixing that problem has allowed me to continue again.

I'm still not fully confident everything works perfectly, but considering that I didn't use to have any game-breaking problems before, and that my current load order is almost identical to my old one, I can't think of any reason it shouldn't work. Then again, I was already surprised and set back once big time.

I still have a lot of things I want to do in game and what I want to write about, a lot of ideas for original content involving for example a rewrite of "Lost to the Ages" quest, some old friends and enemies who want to screw Henriette over and some slavers who just don't like the idea of Henriette being an adventurer. There's also Vanilla and mod-added content to have fun with, a lot of Daedric quests that are fun, and the entire Dragonborn DLC which I have never actually played! Time is still an issue for me, but if I can at least catch up a little without annoying crashes I can start writing Henriette's journal again. No promises.
