This is intended to be both a literary exercise and experiment of sorts. The premise is actually rather simple: write a story with nothing but dialog. In this way it would be similar to early radio plays. I have designed templates to help make the process of writing these stories easier, and more visually appealing, as well as for removing the need to indicate the speaker in the text. It would be very pleasurable if other people wanted to try their hand at writing one of these dialog stories. I encourage others to join me in this literary exercise.
Rules
- Use templates for your characters based on those that I have already made.
- I have made the templates as user friendly as I can. Use the
|says
parameter for speech, the|thinks
parameter for thought and the|mech
parameter for mechanical speech like a tv, radio, phone call, etc. - To make it easier on yourself try to use names for your characters that no one has used yet. That way you can use their name as the name of the template.
- Do NOT use another person's template as your character without getting permission first. For instance if you want to use my Brian template as a character in your story, ask my permission first.
- Any square (not rectangular) image should work in the template, but it is best for a head shot. There are a lot of easy, free resources to crop pictures. Crop it to a 1:1 aspect ratio around the face and you should get a good picture for the template.
- I have made the templates as user friendly as I can. Use the
- Only speech and thought should be used. No narrators, no exposition. Sounds can be added in the speech section by surrounding it with asterisks

, but this should NOT be used for actions. Actions taken can only be inferred from the dialog. - Only characters that are present in the scene in some form should be used. It's okay to use Grandma if she's on the phone, or the Devil if he's talking in a character's ear, or the News Guy if the TV is on; but we aren't in Miami, so why are we hearing what Uncle Don is saying to the lady on his vacation?
- Have fun. This is a requirement. If you aren't having fun, what are you doing writing the story?

Stories
List your stories that use this format below. Follow the layout that I have used if you please.
Daddy's Home (Cast)
Police detective Brian Murphy gets home from finally cracking a child prostitution ring. He has worked long hours, and is physically exhausted, mentally numb, and sexually pent-up. His children care a great deal for their father. How are they going to make him feel better after a long day of looking at sexy naked children getting fucked on video?
After being kink-shamed (unintentionally, I believe) I have no more will to continue writing this story. It is open for anyone who may want to continue it. --Elerneron (talk) 12:36, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
Man of the house (Cast)
After the death of her husband nearly three months, Stacy Jones has been doing her best to put her life back in order, be there for her two daughters, Heather and Jessie, and her son Tyler, and figure out where she goes from here. She has recently started working from home which seems to have made things a little easier, but spending so much time around her sexy daughters and incredibly affection son has come with one very unexpected side effect: She's been sexually fantasizing about all of them and is getting closer and closer to acting on these taboo desires.
Simon Says (Cast)
A young boy named Simon finds out about the game "Simon Says" later in life than most. He also discovers that by playing it everyone REALLY has to do what he says.
Three Brats (Cast)
Björnquists are moving to the small rural village of Cloverfield, and Emilia is not too happy about this. Forced to leave behind her old friends and the city life she's been accustomed to, she has to start anew.
