Story and Page Format
Content
- This story should be written in Second Person and Present Tense. This means that you refer to the player as you, and that you describe things as though they are currently happening. ie. You look around. not He looks around. or You looked around. or heaven forbid He looked around.
- This is a science fiction story, do not add fantasy, or magical elements.
- Aliens are not permitted to have more than five of their species on the planet at a time by Galactic Law.
- Aliens are not permitted to let the humans, as a species, discover that there is alien life by Galactic Law. The occasional accidental exposure is inevitable, but no records should exist to back up a "crackpot" claim.
- Aliens are not permitted to use any means other than reproduction and indoctrination to invade the humans by Galactic Law.
- Aliens are permitted to kill humans only in self-defense by Galactic Law.
- Aliens breaking Galactic Law should get a visit from Galactic Enforcers rather quickly (they're watching), leading to a Game Over.
- Any type of fetish content is fine. Any age character in any situation (that is not magical) is fine.
- Entries should be at least a paragraph in length. One sentence entries are LAME.
- Do not put in excessive bad ends, consider other ways that the story could continue. If a character gets revealed as an alien; that’s more material for the story. Bad ends should be reserved for situations from which there is absolutely no way out, for instance death.
- Be certain to add the template to each and every page. More on the template can be found below.
- I reserve the right to edit and or delete entries that are poorly written, or to bring two or more passages in line with one another.
Choices
- Preface all choices with Invasion!/
Species Name
/ whereSpecies Name
is the name of the species you are writing for and provide alternate text without Invasion!/Species Name
/. (Copy-paste is your friend.)
*This is a choice
- In the case of the above example the page name is Invasion!/Maritans/Choice, but the reader will see This is a choice. This keeps things from bleeding into other stories and keeps other stories from bleeding into Invasion!.
- If you feel you need a single sentence entry to give the player various options, do it on the same page via choices. ie.
What do you do? *This is a choice *This is another choice Or do you take her to another part of the house? *Take her to your room *Take her to her room *Take her to the bathroom *Take her to the kitchen
NOT
What do you do? *This is a choice *This is another choice *Take her to another part of the house
With the entry for Take her to another part of the house simply being one sentence and a selection of rooms.
Categories
- To keep things on the index pages organized, provide an alternate entry for the category that correlates to the page name without the Invasion!/
Species Name
/. For instance, if the page name is Invasion!/Species Name
/Bounce the ball, the category should be . This keeps thing alphabetical while maintaining the advantages of using Invasion!/Species Name
/ in front of the entries. - Add a category to each page based on the sepecies such as this in addition to the category . This allows me to group them together by starting off point, and automatically generate and show how many pages each starting off point leads to.
- If the entry is an ending (bad or otherwise), be sure to add the category in addition to the category .
- If the entry is a racial profile, be sure to add the category in addition to the category . Notice the Gamma symbol in the alternate text of the Invasion! Category. This keeps the Profiles separate from the story entries.
Characters
- All characters exist in the same world, and can interact with one another even if they are not part of the story you are currently contributing to.
- If you want to put in new characters feel free to do so.
- Do not edit a species profile that you didn't create without getting permission from the person who created that species.
- If you add a new alien race in the story, make a species profile for them, even if they are not a playable species.
- If you want to make a playable species, put them on the first page in the same manner as the one(s) you see there.
- Feel free to use any characters that have already been introduced.
Claims
- If you would like to write for a specific passage, but don't have the time at the moment, you may claim it by putting (Claimed) and your signature after the option you would like to claim. (Your signature is the second to last button on the editing page.) thusly: (Claimed) --Elerneron 22:44, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
- Once you have written the passage, remove your claim from the option.
- Do not jump another person's claim.
- If you haven't worked on your claimed passage for a long time I will remove your claim.
- The term 'a long time' in the above rule is defined as: "whenever I think it has been idle too long". It will be at least a week, but may be significantly more time than that.
- Don't claim all of the options on a particular page. Leave some options for others.
Template
- The template is a general guide for the reader to use to estimate the progress of the invasion. Here is the basic format of the template:

Now I will go into each value:
- Color1: This is the dark color of the template table. Each race should use a unique color scheme, and it should remain consistent for all the pages of that race. This is in the format of any form of CSS Color. Here is a reference for you: http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_colors.asp.
- Color2: This is the medium color of the template table.
- Color3: This is the light color of the template table.
- Species: This is the name of the species.
- Stage: This is the current stage of the invasion as defined on the species profile page.
- Hybrids: This is the approximate number of spawn the species has created with humans that are still alive.
- Political: This is an arbitrary representation of the progress that has been made achieving the species political goals.
- Cultural: This is an arbitrary representation of the progress that has been made achieving the species cultural goals.
- Technical: This is an arbitrary representation of the progress that has been made achieving the species technical goals.
- Transformation: This is the overall progress of transforming the human race to the species desires.
- Suspicion: This is an arbitrary representation of the level of suspicion aroused in the human population.
- Resistance: This is an arbitrary representation of the level of resistance the humans are presenting to the invasion (Generally this will remain very low until/unless the Suspicion rating gets high enough that the government gets involved . . . then Woah Nellie!
- Abilities: This is a list of the species' racial advantages and disadvantages.
- Equipment: This is a list of equipment available to the main character.
The best way to get this all right is to copy the previous page in edit mode before you make the next page, then paste it in the next page and change everything that is different.
