"I wonder what Mum wants to talk to Brian about," you say to Stevie, who is sitting in you bed. She doesn't reply, so you look for something to read. All your books from the old house are lined up on a shelf, and you notice that there's one sticking out a bit, so you take it down.

Janet and John go to the Park.

All your books are as good as new, even if you read them loads of times, but this one looks old and battered. There is a picture of two children about your age on the front. Curious, you carry it over to the bed. "Is this one yours? Maybe we can read it together," you say, but still no reply from Stevie. You get undressed and put your nightie on. Then you sit up on the bed next to Stevie with the book.

The first page shows them walking on a path in a park, with trees and grass in the background. There are other people too, all in old-fashioned clothes.
"Janet and John were walking in the park." you read.
"There were other people around, but they wanted to be alone."
"John wanted to go to a place where there are no other people to see what they are doing."

The next page shows them in the woods. There are trees all around and a log for them to sit on.
