Traits are genetic and environmental factors that not everyone possesses. Recessive traits will also show up in the mod, even when not expressed. While not categorized in the mod, I will list them in categories to make them easier to deal with.

Genetic Traits

These are traits written into the genetic code of an individual.

Deleterious Traits

These are traits that are detrimental to the individual possessing them.

  • Albinism: A condition where the body does not produce melanin. The individual possesses no protection from harmful ultraviolet radiation, and can have serious issues from exposure to sunlight.

Neutral Traits

These traits do not present a clear benefit or detriment to the individual possessing them.

  • Herterochromia: A condition where the eyes of the organism are different in color from one another.

Positive Traits

These traits present a clear benefit to the organism or the species (though frequently with an inherent flaw attached).

  • Precocious Puberty: A condition where the individual undergoes puberty much earlier than normal. It is beneficial because it allows for the early production of young allowing for more children to be born in an individual's lifetime which is generally good for the survival of the species. It has the flaw that in females it is extremely hazardous to the individual. Much of the benefit is lost in modern society, and while the flaw is somewhat mitigated by modern science, it has not been eliminated.

Environmental Traits

These are traits that have been caused by an outside force, and are not inherent to the individual.

Deleterious Traits

These are traits that are detrimental to the individual possessing them.

  • One Arm: The individual has lost an arm.
  • Lung Cancer: The individual has a cancer of the lungs.

Neutral Traits

These traits do not present a clear benefit or detriment to the individual possessing them.

  • Breast Implants: Saline bags have been added to the individual's breast mass to increase their size.

Positive Traits

These traits present a clear benefit to the organism or the species (though frequently with an inherent flaw attached).

  • Cochlear Implant: A medical device has been implanted to mitigate poor hearing.
