Avery is the daughter of two hard-working small business owners in Virginia Beach. During the busy tourist season, they are always working at their local gift shop, leaving Avery and her older brother to themselves. Avery enjoys skateboarding at the skate park around the corner from her house and spends lots of time there to keep herself entertained. When she is met by an older skateboarder who offers to be her coach, Avery is excited to start taking lessons. But she winds up getting more than she bargained for. . .
