Interesting beginning, and also interesting title. I had to look up the meaning of that, and it appears to be a genre of murder mysteries where the reader has to discover for himself who the murder is just before it being revealed by the author. I love those kind of books, so I wonder what this story will be about.

I found it a bit weird that Angela reacted so passively to her father's passing. Even if she didn't understood at first that he had died, she's already seven, so it's unlikely the concept of death is foreign to her. Perhaps she's just blocking it and trying to pretend it hasn't happened, but the way she adapts to her new home make it seems like it really didn't affected her that much. Perhaps her father was an absent figure and for her there is little difference between him being away and him being death. I would accept that, except her mother really is affected, so much that they had to move, so he wasn't completely absent.

Other than that it's an intriguing beginning. --Tod Naturlich (talk) 08:44, 17 February 2018 (CET)
