Nanami is the owner and principal of Itou Academy.
Personality
Nanami generally has a pleasant personality, preferring to get along with the people around her. She's very much the type who would work on a student body council.
Thanks to her upbringing, she is somewhat preoccupied with her family's social standing. She makes an effort not to lord this over others, though.
Similarly to Minako, she sees herself as the chessmaster archetype. Unlike with Minako, this personality trait has backfired on her, and hard. She would have gotten away with her plan had she not taken steps to try and ensure cooperation with it.
History
Despite the fact that her family is relatively wealthy, she has gone to public school for most of her life; it was her parent's attempt to keep her grounded.
Back in 2012, her parents died in a car crash. After her initial mourning period, she began attempting to secure the future of her family. It was at this time that she learned she was sterile, while trying to determine if she would, in the future, have any issues having children.
She ruled out adoption for having children; she knew that the remainder of her family would not see such a child as a legitimate heir. As she considered her options, the idea occurred to her that, if her future husband had a child with an 'official' mistress, that child would be considered a legitimate heir; at least, more so than an adopted child. She hit on the idea of using a school both as cover and for recruitment. As she developed her plan, she decided to center it around the boy she had developed a crush on.
Character Conception
The students in the school are all characters I originally made for Artificial Academy 2, and the seed for Nanami's creation comes from the description of the 'Friendly' personality from the HGames Wiki: "Pleasant, easy-going, and a master of politeness judo, able to get what she wants harmoniously, making others happy, even grateful, to give it to her. However, she can turn cold if losing control of a situation, and delivers her polite demands firmly and sharply."
From that, I hit on the idea of a girl who had her own agenda that she manages to get everyone else in class to cooperate with. After a couple playthroughs I had more or less decided on what she was trying to do, and the rest of her personality proceeded from there.
