TBaby/Emily/Second Friday Morning
When you wake up, it takes a while before you realise that there is something digging into your back. You roll over and pick up the vibrator that you used to get yourself off before you went to sleep. You run the shower to warm the water while you brush your teeth and by the time you get in, the door opens and Veronica comes in.
She takes her pyjama bottoms right off before dragging the step over so that she can climb up onto the toilet. You watch as she spreads her legs wide apart and pisses a long stream. She always has trouble tearing off a square of toilet paper and, as usual, it ends up with three or four feet dangling down onto the floor. You can't help wondering if Jason helped last night.
Working in a call centre is pretty boring and not very well paid, but it is easy work and with Veronica in the subsidised creche, there's usually a little bit left over each month to go in the savings. On sunny days, you usually take your sandwich into the park, but today it's raining, so you go to the shopping mall down the road where you can sit in the atrium and watch the people. There's a shop there that sells second-hand electronic gadgets. The window is full of mobile phones, tablets and laptops and that's where you bought the nannycam that you been using to spy on Jason and Veronica.
You thought about last night's little show and realise that something went on that you missed and you wonder if your finances would stretch to buying a second camera, so you go into the shop. There are two men behind the counter, one is about your age, with greasy hair and he's trying to sell an expensive mobile phone to someone who clearly hasn't got a clue what he's talking about. The other man is much older, with grey hair and a friendly smile. You explain that you want a camera to record what the babysitter does while you're out and he remembers selling you the original nannycam. "It works fine," you say, "but I can only put it in one room."
"Your daughter is three," he asks, and when you tell him yes, he goes out to the back of the shop to get a box with an assortment of small items inside. "Do you have Wi-Fi," he asks. You explain that there is one router for the whole block of flats and that while it runs pretty slowly some evenings, it's fairly adequate most of the time. The box he bought in, has four small cameras inside. These little cameras are easy to hide and run on batteries. You connect them to your laptop through the Internet so you can easily see what the babysitter gets up to.
Your first thought is that it's going to be far too expensive, but when he tells you the price you're quite amazed. "What about the batteries," you ask and he explains that their rechargeable and all you have to do is put the little cameras into a charging station once a week.
Back home, you spend ages looking for places to hide the cameras and then realise you need to charge them all up first. There are loads of instructions in about fourteen different languages, but by the end of the weekend, you have them all working. You leave the nannycam in Veronica's bedroom and put two of the new cameras in the sitting room and two in your bedroom. It's rather strange watching a recording of yourself playing with Ronnie, but you're pretty confident that whatever Jason gets up to you will know about it.
