I've always liked challenges and literary exercises, and I think I even have an idea and a setting in mind for a wee story that I could try in this format. Just a few questions before I start preplanning, mostly on how to expand the possibilities this format allows and what it doesn't:

  • Would having alternating images for same characters depending on different situations be allowed? For emotions, normal speech versus shouting, a sexier image for sexy time, and so on. (Goes against the idea of a "radio play" but since there are images already, this is an area where possibilities can be expanded.)
  • No narration, fine, but how about circumventing it though object that aren't designed to make sound? (Like car going *vroom*, car's door *slam*ing, police car sirens etc.?
  • In similar vein, could something I call "soft narration" be done through links to next page? Like for example, when you transition from scene to scene, from page A to B, the link could just read "later that evening", "the crew drives to the shop, and then…", or any other similar example? Just short lines though, not entire paragraphs to replace links.

I think those are it for now, but I might think of something else as well. Innocent Ruin (talk) 13:03, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

  • I don't see any problem at all with alternating images other than it making the template take longer to type out (and the time making them). The radio play was just a way to express the idea. The concept, at it's core is to write a story using nothing but dialog. I allowed thought bubbles, because I felt it might be too challenging without them.
  • Hey, an object as a character is totally valid, even if they only go *vroom*.
  • Your links can say whatever you want them to.

Check out a quirk of the template system I used for dirty talk. If I put in a says, thinks, and mech, I get:

What the heck is going on
This is really weird.
This is you from the future, don't freak out!

I reasoned that it would do this when I made the templates. Also, it will show in that order, no matter what order you put the parameters in. It's always says then thinks then mech. --Elerneron (talk) 10:01, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
