Story and Page Format
Content
- This story should be written in Second Person and Present Tense. This means that you refer to the chosen as you, and that you describe things as though they are currently happening. ie. You look around. not He looks around. or You looked around. or heaven forbid He looked around.
- This is a medieval fantasy story, do not add modern, or science fiction elements.
- Any type of fetish content is fine. Any age character in any situation (that is not modern or science fictiony) is fine.
- Entries should be at least a paragraph in length. One sentence entries are LAME.
- Do not put in excessive bad ends, consider other ways that the story could continue. If a character goes to prison; that’s more material for the story. Bad ends should be reserved for situations from which there is absolutely no way out, for instance death.
- Be certain to add the template to each and every page. More on the template can be found on the page Template Format.
- I reserve the right to edit and or delete entries that are poorly written, or to bring two or more passages in line with one another.
Choices
- Preface all choices with Generations/ and provide alternate text without Generations/.
*This is a choice
- In the case of the above example the page name is Generations/Choice, but the reader will see This is a choice. This keeps things from bleeding into other stories and keeps other stories from bleeding into Generations.
- If you feel you need a single sentence entry to give the player various options, do it on the same page via choices. ie.
What do you do? *This is a choice *This is another choice Or do you take her to another part of the house? *Take her to your room *Take her to her room *Take her to the bathroom *Take her to the kitchen
NOT
What do you do? *This is a choice *This is another choice *Take her to another part of the house
With the entry for Take her to another part of the house simply being one sentence and a selection of rooms.
Categories
- To keep things on the index pages organized, provide an alternate entry for the category that correlates to the page name without the Generations/. For instance, if the page name is Generations/Bounce the ball, the category should be . This keeps thing alphabetical while maintaining the advantages of using Generations/ in front of the entries.
- Add a category to each page based on the original chosen such as this in addition to the category . This allows me to group them together by starting off point, and automatically generate and show how many pages each starting off point leads to.
- If the entry is an ending (bad or otherwise), be sure to add the category in addition to the category .
- If the entry is a character sheet, be sure to add the category in addition to the category . Notice the Omega symbol in the alternate text of the Generations Category. This keeps the Character Sheets separate from the story entries.
- In the unlikely event that I authorize you to write a lore page, be sure to add the category in addition to the category . Notice the Gamma symbol in the alternate text of the Generations Category. This keeps the Lore Pages separate from the story entries.
Characters
- All characters exist in the same world, and can interact with one another even if they are not the chosen. For example, if you choose to play Jaedyn, you can go to the castle and try to get with Princess Violet. Conversely if you choose to play Princess Violet you could get captured by the dragon Cinder, etc.
- If you want to put in new characters feel free to do so. If the character is important enough, give them a character sheet, even if they are not playable. This gives other writers guidelines on writing for them.
- Do not edit the specific details of a character that you didn't create without getting permission from the person who created that character.
- Do not add characters or creatures from races that I have not defined. Instead ask me to define the race, then add the character after I have done so.
- If you want to make a playable character, put them on the first page. This requires a specific format to keep things consistent. Each family should have it's own sub-heading, creatures from the same kingdom share one sub-heading. Group them according to kingdom of origin, and if they have a family, list the whole family, starting with the eldest family member and proceeding to the youngest. Sub-families should be ranked by ages within the sub-family. For instance if the patriarch's first son has a child that is younger than the patriarch's second son, it should be listed after the first son, not the second, as it is the child of the first son. Speaking of which, use ordinals (first, second, third) to indicate birth rank by gender. If the playable character is a creature, put them with the other creatures of the kingdom. Here is a form for listing a family (replace everything in curly brackets {} with the appropriate information):
=== {Family Name} Family: Kingdom of {Kingdom Name} === *Patriarch: {Character Name} (Character Sheet): {Race}, {Gender}, {Age}, {Occupation} *Matriarch: {Character Name} (Character Sheet): {Race}, {Gender}, {Age}, {Occupation} *First Son: {Character Name} (Character Sheet): {Race}, {Gender}, {Age}, {Occupation} *First Son's Wife: {Character Name} (Character Sheet): {Race}, {Gender}, {Age}, {Occupation} *First Son's First Son: {Character Name} (Character Sheet): {Race}, {Gender}, {Age}, {Occupation}
- Feel free to use any characters that have already been introduced.
Claims
- If you would like to write for a specific passage, but don't have the time at the moment, you may claim it by putting (Claimed) and your signature after the option you would like to claim. (Your signature is the second to last button on the editing page.) thusly: (Claimed) --Elerneron 22:44, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
- Once you have written the passage, remove your claim from the option.
- Do not jump another person's claim.
- If you haven't worked on your claimed passage for a long time I will remove your claim.
- The term 'a long time' in the above rule is defined as: "whenever I think it has been idle too long". It will be at least a week, but may be significantly more time than that.
- Don't claim all of the options on a particular page. Leave some options for others.
