With the trailer loaded and hooked up behind and the boys all strapped into their seats on the bus, you finally set off. There's a bit of singing in the back, but they all more or less behave themselves for the two hour journey to the campsite. You are not surprised to see some horseplay in the mirror where Pat is sitting between his brother and Jason. Kevin is riding shotgun with the map on his lap, pleased to be given the responsibility for navigation down the country lanes (even though you know the way very well).
The site is a fairly level field with few facilities. A couple of toilets in a semi-derelict cottage, and no showers. The main benefits are the almost total seclusion and the stream at one side giving fresh water and the chance to bathe.
