I didn't say anything, but I've been trying to give the orphans names that are biblically inspired.

  • Adam (adamos is Hebrew for "mankind")
  • Micaela (feminine version of Michael "mirror image of the Lord") kind of ironic, since HG wants her to be a rebellious skater.
  • Bethany (Bethlehem)
  • Kirsten (Scandinavian version of "Christina", which means "follower of Christ"
  • Jane (Hebrew, Yehochanan, meaning "YHWH is merciful)
  • Hannah (Hebrew, Channah, meaning "grace/favor")
  • Candace (Meroitic/Sudanese, Kandake, meaning "pure/innocent")

You may not have realized it, but "Elaine" comes from French / Greek "Helen" and is derived from the Hebrew name Eliana, meaning "YHWH has answered." So it still fits into the biblical naming scheme. --MrPib (talk) 18:07, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
