Fairy Abilities

A fairy (pixie, sprite) is the smallest form of fey. They are about six inches tall with butterfly, dragonfly or damselfly wings. They are very physically weak, but have some of the strongest fey magic.

  • Gender: Faeries are predominately female, and the rare males are pampered and protected. Fairy nobles are hermaphrodites, appearing to be fully female, but with a penis. Noble faeries' testicles are internal, and due to this their already diminished fertility is further hindered. Noble faeries rarely conceive children from one another, instead relying on the rare male faeries to reproduce with.
  • Infertility: Like all fey, faeries are very infertile. Pregnancies are very rare.
  • Receptive Reproduction: Like all fey, faeries can interbreed with any other species.
  • Genetic Perfection: Like all fey, faeries are genetically unflawed. They are incapable of producing children with birth defects. This makes incest a common practice in their society. Fey have a hard time understanding why other races have a problem with incest.
  • Unaging: Like almost all fey, faeries do not continue to age after reaching maturity.
  • Accommodating Anatomy: The bodies of faeries are almost rubber-like in their construction, allowing them to be stretched to a ridiculous degree without damage. They cannot control the stretching, it must come from an outside force. Their bodies feel no different than any other creatures despite their stretchy flesh and bones.
  • Glamored: Faeries are naturally glamored. This makes them appear to be normal butterflys, dragonflys or damselflys. They can allow others to see their true form by sprinkling pixie dust in their eyes.
  • Fey Magic: Faeries have very strong fey magic. Fey magic is more limited in scope that other types of magic, only allowing for a few types of effects.
    • Glamors: One of the most common types of fey magic is the glamor. This is an illusion that can be cast upon living beings only. It can make them appear to be any other living being.
    • Emotion Control: Fey magic can alter the emotions of living beings to make them feel whatever the fey wishes for them to feel.
    • Sleep: Fey magic can force a target into a deep sleep.
  • Iron Allergy: Like almost all fey, fairies are allergic to iron, this includes the blood of mortal beings which contains a lot of iron. Fey blood is copper-based, and is therefore green instead of red. Iron causes skin irritation and discomfort, but can also lead to a severe, even life-threatening, allergic reaction.
  • Pixie Dust: Faeries naturally produce a powerful magical dust called pixie dust (or less commonly fairy dust). Pixie dust is the dried sexual fluids of a fairy.
    • Gold Pixie Dust: Gold pixie dust comes from female faeries and the vaginal secretions of noble faeries, and is the most common.
      • Faerie Sight: When rubbed into the eyes, gold pixie dust allows others to see the hidden world of the fey as it really is. This also allows them to see through any form of illusion, regardless of the source.
      • Flight: When large quantities of pixie dust are sprinkled on a person, it gives them the ability of wingless flight for a short period of time (until the dust falls off).
      • Healing: When applied to a wound, gold pixie dust promotes healing. The larger the wound the more pixie dust that is required to fully heal it.
    • Silver Pixie Dust: Silver pixie dust comes from male pixies, and the semen of noble fairies, and is much more rare.
      • Faerie Sight: Like gold pixie dust, when rubbed into the eyes silver pixie dust allows others to see the hidden world of the fey as it really is. This also allows them to see through any form of illusion, regardless of the source.
      • Sexual Effects: When rubbed into a sexual organ, silver pixie dust causes instantaneous arousal. It also causes females to ovulate. It promotes the sexual development of the subject as well, which can result in precocious puberty in children.
      • Impregnation: Silver pixie dust is semen, and contains sperm. Fey can reproduce with any type of being, so the use of pixie dust on a females genitalia can result in a pregnancy. Offspring between the fey and human are called changelings.

Note: Fairies are 1/12th scale. Due to the square-cube law, calculate their weight using the following formula: (1/12)^3*W where W is the weight that they would be if they were full human size (do yourself a favor and express this in ounces and not pounds).
