"I think I understand," you say to her. "You've never seen me before, right? Your mom just dropped you off with someone you don't even know at this place you've never been before, so of course you're a little scared."
"Mmm..." she responds, swaying her hips back and forth. Although her eyes are looking at your knees, or the ground, you are able to see a slight smile flash across her face for a bit.
"It's Ok," you tell her. "I just want you to know I'm not going to do anything for you to be scared of. I want to be your friend. You're going to be staying with me until your mom comes to pick you up, so we might as well get along."
Hannah stops swaying for a moment and then she looks up to look you in the eyes for a bit, flashing a smile at you again. You seem to have made some kind of connection.
