Something to keep in mind on this route that might be more important than other routes is using the bathroom. I'm sure there's an outhouse or something if they have to poop, but especially if they are this far out there is likely no place but the woods to pee, and I doubt Emma will want to go out alone at night for that considering both how scared she gets and also the fact she doesn't have a flashlight.
