It's really not necessary to have a 3 year old in a crib, unless it's for the purpose of confinement which would suggest parents that are abusive in other ways instead of just sexual, but it's really not all that effective even for that purpose. Normally, you stop with the crib at around age 2, and then move them to a mattress on the floor at age 3. (It is on the floor to prevent them from falling off the bed and hurting themselves. You switch to a proper bed as soon as they stop winding up on the floor.) Jemini (talk) 06:09, 22 August 2019 (UTC)

Unless they've had issues with the kid wandering the house at night, and possibly trying to get out the door. There's ways around that too. Had a cousin that they had to babyproof all of the drawers (she liked to climb and get into things) and put bolts at the top of the door way out of reach, to keep her from going outside. They also have beds designed for kids that age that are practically on the floor, but more visually appealing than a mattress just lying there. --Notsooldpervert (talk) 18:18, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
