The Entertainer/Mara prepares to go to Honorbright
Honorbright is the most well known Orphanage in Mazeen. So well known that children brought there has to be given to another orphanage due to the limited spots. While it is the most efficient Orphanage to raise children for joining the military or serving the royal family, it still has it own somber history. Mara hopes the changes made are enough to provide children with a better way of life.
There are currently four buildings for the Orphanage, all separate with their own purposes:
The northern wing is a recreation of certain areas in the castle: Bedrooms, dinner hall, throne room, meeting areas. The King and the Queen along with their children are invited to come and participate anytime they wish. Different scenarios are played thorough the day to test children's behaviors toward what may happen.
For a moment, the Queen wondered if she should go with the King and her three firstborn kids or simply go alone.
The Eastern wing provides all the necessary lodging and teaching for boys to become Guards. Women are not allowed in this wing unless they are of royalty.]]
The Western wing provides all the necessary lodging and teaching for girls to become Maids. Children under the age of five are also taken care there. Boys are then brought to the Eastern wing once they reach six years old to start training as Squires. Men are not allowed into this wing unless they are of royalty.]]
The southern wing has been recently made to accommodate the new teaching methods. Children are expected to learn reading, mathematics, science and economics. It also comes with it own library so children can read in their spare times. Due to the method being in early stage, the King takes great care in receiving news and providing funding to prodigies in the making. The southern hall also has a welcoming section for receiving parents, the royalty or abandoned children.
If there is one thing that Mara wants from Honorbright, it is the opportunity for her children to make friends and socialize with kids of their ages. While she is happy there is now a building for the new education system placed, she still wanted to make sure it was safe enough for her kids to be alone there. She wants to give them some freedom, but she's too cautious about what may happen.
