They tell you their names are Thomas ("Manno," the polite one without the hat) and JayJay ("Dude," the one who doesn't even try not to look at your ass.) Their dog is a chocolate lab named Brutus. You blurt out your name, Kiki, several long seconds before it occurs to you that using your real name might have been a mistake.

With that, you are off to the races. With the boys guiding you, you return to the main beach. The population on the beach is starting to rise and you are definitely attracting attention, especially as the three of you keep shouting "Brutus!" over and over again. But having the taller boys on either side of you means no one gets a straight-on look at you for terribly long. That plus the sarong creates a kind of mystical deniability. Even the people who see your nudity clearly, either because the wind shifts the sarong for a moment or because the sun shines at such an angle as to make your naked skin shine through it, still manage to mostly shake their heads and look away, afraid to be caught staring and able to tell themselves they must have seen wrong.

You feel even more powerful than you did at the cove. You are soon bouncing with each step. You grow "careless" in holding your sarong, letting it flutter and shift pretty freely in the ocean winds.

After an enjoyable hour of this, your search is brought up short when...

A sudden breeze pulls the sarong out of your loose grip

Brutus comes bounding up to the three of you

A police officer pulls up on the road-side of the boardwalk and chirps his siren at you
