"What is a…?" she cocks her head as if to study you closely, though what she could possibly be seeing you cannot say. "Oh dear, you really are turned around, aren’t you?"

"A sortie is why you are here. We can only enter the world for a short time, so we choose our moments carefully. In your case, you are a demon of prurience, specifically the corruption of innocence. Your job, your whole reason for being, is to exploit a rare opportunity to maximize the corruption of an innocent soul.

"Your kind only manifest when an innocent has participated in an act of horrible corruption, but somehow preserved their innocence. This juxtaposition, this paradox, creates your opportunity. You go in and guide the innocent into ruin. One obvious choice is to seek out whatever sick soul attempted, but failed, to soil your host in the first place, but how and with whom you ultimately corrupt your host really doesn't matter, so long as, four days from now, your host is firmly on the path to a life of irretrievable deviance.

"Succeed and you will be granted further sorties, more chances to come to Earth and play. Fail and you will return to hell in disgrace and never get another chance. I know you are having a little memory problem right now and cannot remember what it's like, but trust me: Earth's the better gig."
