Talk:Generations/Lore
Suggestions
I have some thoughts on the lore page and some of the terms and abilities.
- Under Defensive Abilities Fire immunity be replaced with elemental immunity with fire as a sub-category along with: Acid, Electricity, Sonic and cold
- Witchcraft be replaced with Occult, as magic as it covers a broader spectrum that includes Witchcraft.
- Darkvision and Tremmer sense be added to senses.
- Burrow and Climb be added to special movement.
- Under Sorcery, Innate be replaced with Inborn.
- Natural abilities that are immune to magic dead zones be referred to as innate abilities.
- Change Magitech to Techno-magic.
- Replace Iron Allergy with Weakness, allows for a much broader spectrum which includes iron allergy.

Thank you for your suggestions. A lot of what is going on in the Abilities section is due to the fact that I add abilities to the page only after I add them to a race or class page. I'll address your suggestions one at a time below:
- Under Defensive Abilities Fire immunity be replaced with elemental immunity with fire as a sub-category along with: Acid, Electricity, Sonic and cold
- This is quite logical, and I would likely have gone there eventually as I defined more races.
- Witchcraft be replaced with Occult, as magic as it covers a broader spectrum that includes Witchcraft.
- In this setting Witch/Warlock refers to a type of magic that is bargained for, and is not related to witchcraft in our world. All magic would classify as occult; but with such a magical setting that information is spread out because it is so diverse.
- Darkvision and Tremmer sense be added to senses.
- Burrow and Climb be added to special movement.
- These would likely have been added once I wrote up a race with those abilities.
- Under Sorcery, Innate be replaced with Inborn.
- Natural abilities that are immune to magic dead zones be referred to as innate abilities.
- I assume the issue here is the use of Natural to describe the source abilities that don't rely on magic? Would Mundane be better? I prefer Innate to be used for magical qualities that one must be born with like Djinn Magic and Sorcery (there are four so far). Is the current usage confusing, or is it a personal preference? We could brainstorm a new term, but I like Innate where it is . . . maybe Mundane instead of Natural?
- Change Magitech to Techno-magic.
- This is a personal preference of mine. I am a HUGE FFVI fan. I like the term Magitech . . . a LOT. I assume you like the term Technomage/Technomagic?
- Replace Iron Allergy with Weakness, allows for a much broader spectrum which includes iron allergy.
- This may have occured at some point as I developed more races.
If the story starts being worked on again, I'll certainly be open to changing the lore pages. --Elerneron (talk) 17:35, 13 March 2020 (CET)
