"Huh?" The young girl looks up towards me, innocent eyes gently meeting my ruthless gaze. "Right! I almost forgot."

She lays fifty cents onto the counter between us, finally paying for the lollipop she'd been sucking on for the better part of a minute now. "You're all set then. Have a good day!"

"Thanks!" She turns away to leave the mostly empty store, sugary substance firmly in her mouth.
