The Babysitter and the Sisterly Trio/ChapterIX/Morning
When I finally come around, all three girls are still piled on top of me asleep. I check the clock with bleary eyes and see that it's almost 7:00AM.
Groaning, I sit up. Evy rolls down my chest and settles on my legs, while Tera's only response is to hug my arm even tighter and Riley just rolls over and continues sleeping.
I reach down and poke Riley's shoulder. "Riley, it's time to wake up and get ready for school." Riley mumbles something incomprehensible and doesn't move.
I try Tera next, patting her on the head. "Tera, it's time for school!" Tera shakes her head slightly but doesn't open her eyes.
Last I reach down and pat Evy on the back. "Evy! Time to get up!" I tell her, but she doesn't so much as twitch.
Deciding I need to take more drastic measures, I lightly roll Riley off the bed. There was a pile of pillows on the floor and this was a very low bed, so I wasn't worried I'd hurt her.
She squeaks when she tumbles off the bed. "Hey..." Riley complains. "Time to wake up, sleepy head!~" I reply cheerfully.
Riley grumbles and stands up, then teeters off to the bathroom.
Next I pick up Evy one handed and pull her up onto my chest. I tilt up her pajama top a tad so her belly is exposed, and blow a raspberry onto it.
Evy giggles and comes around. "Time to wake up, silly!~" I tell her. She nods and I gently set her feet down on the floor and push her in the direction of the bathroom.
Tera's being stubborn. I try prying her off my arm, tickling her, and even licking her ear. I can see her fighting to smile, so I know she's actually awake, but she won't give up the facade. Next I try getting out of bed, but she just drags along the floor, refusing the let go.
"Tera, c'mon I know you're awake." I tell her, shaking my head. "What's it gonna take to get you to stop pretending?"
When she still doesn't move or say anything, I roll my eyes. Time to get serious!
[How did I get her to stop faking being asleep?] * I decided to try "stimulating" her awake! * By pouring a cup of water on her head.
