SW:CES:ROTS:Padmé/Mustafar/Dark Side/Save Anakin
You don’t hate Obi-Wan: he’s a faithful, good friend. If anything, you’ve betrayed him. But even so, he plans to take your child away from you. And he was clearly displeased at your choice to join Anakin. Perhaps he’s even angry? What will he do to you? Will he through you in a cell? Leave you here on this planet? Well he use the Mind Trick to force your compliance? What will he do to your child? Will he really treat them well? Was he lying? Is he so furious that he will take out his anger on your defenseless baby?
You have to act now! Obi-Wan plans to bring you and Anakin down, and you have to stop him! You hurriedly rush to the ship, frantically looking for the blaster you brought along just in case. You are constantly crying as you throw everything that isn’t what you’re looking for to the side.
“Ms. Amidala,” C-3PO asks, causing you to jump in terror. “Oh! Oh my! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to frighten you. I simply wished to ask if you needed assistance looking for-“
“Where’s the blaster!” you shout.
“Blaster?” he asks, concerned. “What’s happening out there?”
“Just. Tell. Me.” you sneer in a cold, frightening manner.
“Oh my,” Threepeo cowers. “I-in the cockpit, under the steering console.”
You push him to the ground and take off to the cock pit. You desperately scramble underneath it, hurriedly trying to find the weapon. You don’t even know if you will need it, but you are not driven by logic now: fear moves your body, drives your search. You are desperate to protect your child, to protect Anakin, to protect yourself. Obi-Wan, your lifelong friend, is a threat.
You don’t know where these thoughts are coming from. Perhaps things like this were always in your head, shackled behind the drive for justice and freedom? You’ve never felt like this before, but you are afraid for your life; for the life of your child; for Anakin; for the sanctity of your empire.
Eventually you find a compartment that carries a heavy blaster, which will tear through any person it is aimed at. You take the blaster and rush back to the landing pad, but Anakin and Obi-Wan are gone. You still hear the sounds of their fight though and rush towards them. You see them battling over the river of lava before coming to the banks of the river.
“It’s over Anakin!” Obi-Wan yells. “I have the high ground!”
“You underestimate my power!” Anakin declares, coldly.
You don’t really know how to use the blaster, but you know that it is powerful and will stop Obi-Wan. You clumsily aim at Obi-Wan’s back, not sure if you will kill him instantly, but you just want to take him down.
“Don’t try it!” Obi-Wan replies.
Anakin however does not look to him. Instead, he looks to you and smiles. You close your eyes in fear as you pull the trigger and fire. Obi-Wan cries out and grabs at his back and falls to the ground. Anakin slowly saunters up to Obi-Wan and stares down at him.
“I am sorry Master. I take no joy in your death.”
Obi-Wan looks up to you, then cries out in pain and anguish.
“You were the Chosen One! You were supposed to destroy the Sith, not join them!” He turns to you. “And you have handed your nation over to tyranny! You have betrayed everything you stand for!”
“I’m sorry Master.” Anakin whispers to him, before he brings his lightsaber down into his stomach. Obi-Wan looks up to Anakin, right before the life drained from his eyes.
“You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you.”
“As did I.” Anakin replies, closing his eyes as he dies.
You look at the scene as it happens and as Anakin stands up and looks to you. You scream out and fall to your knees, as all the emotions come to a head and burst, and you break down crying. Anakin walks up to you and brings you into a tight hug, holding you close as you sob.
