Isn't what you're doing risky?

Oh, definitely! I'd say that there's three big risks involved, all of which partially go together with each other.
Before that though, I've got to ask… Are you on your period yet?

N-no, I haven't had my first period yet… I've only talked about it a bit with my mother a little. Like, she sat me down one time after a visit to hospital - I was sick at the time and the nurse was asking about my growth, adolescence and stuff - and she told me the basics and assured me that when it'll happen I shouldn't panic. She didn't teach me much, and I haven't looked that stuff up online either, so that's basically all I know…
Aren't I too young anyway?

Not at all. It's possible for a girl our age to have periods. Not even rare. Unusual yes, but not rare, and very much possible.
I just thought I'd ask because since it IS possible, it's the first risk involved:
Getting pregnant! We don't want that!

I sure don't…

And even if you did want to have a baby, it'd be kind of a bad idea since it would bring obvious attention to the fact that you've been doing something, or maybe even make people think that you'd been sexually assaulted. You know, because it's not exactly legal for adults to have sex with children, age of consent laws and all that.
Dealing with the police snooping around wondering who did it and asking you questions… Same with worried parents if you're someone who tried to hide it from them… Doctors, the burden of having a baby growing up inside you, childbirth, raising the baby, all that stuff will be a pain.
Abortion is legal here in Sweden, in case you didn't know, but it's not fun business either, so better avoid pregnancy altogether.

Okay… Makes sense…
How to prevent it then?

Any birth control, really. Condoms are the safest, but I prefer pills.

Same! It feels a lot better raw!

…Raw? I really don't know this terminology… I think I'll just nod and google it later…
Oh, and this totally is something to start thinking about immediately if you're thinking about doing it with someone. You totally can get pregnant before your first period.

How exactly?

Because the egg is released from your ovaries as part of the menstrual cycle, silly. "Periods" are simply a way of cleaning an unfertilized egg up and disposing of it along with the other stuff that I don't understand very well. Lots of stuff going on down there, y'know. I'm no doctor, but I know it's possible.

O-oh… My mother didn't teach me that part…

Oh? How irresponsible of her! *giggle*
As you might guess, you just simply can't know when it'll start for you. Next month? Three years from now? All girl's bodies grow differently, so better safe than sorry and just try to prevent it if you can.

How about you girls then? Have you had your first periods yet?

Nope, not me.

Not me either!
We can help you with getting hands of birth control if you ever need it! Saves you from the embarrassment of going to the local store to buy condoms!

I think I understand perfectly now. Thanks.
Let me guess, the next danger is the danger of getting caught?

Exactly! And for the same reasons I already laid down: police, worry-wart parents and such… There could even be some adults who might know about the marks we wear to signal our interest, but are against it.

How do you avoid the situation then?

Best thing you can do is play dumb! Say you have no idea what they're talking about. Hell, you can even accuse them of being pedophile creeps trying to sexually harass you by suggesting you're a naughty girl. Works more often than you might thing!

As for how to avoid getting caught? Just don't do anything stupid. Do it in private with nobody else around. Not sure what else to say. There will always be the risk of getting caught, especially if you do it outside, because, you know… SOME people like to snoop on other's private business.

I'm sowwy, okay? Don't be mad…

*giggle* I already said I'm not mad… I just said that to tease you.

Okay, I can see why those two are both big concerns, but I can't really think of what the third one is, as it's not connected to these two… Right…?

Well, yes, the third risk is perhaps the biggest risk, as it's bad actors.
Just because we are okay with sex and may even like it doesn't mean we like everything. Some people may, let's just say . . . "take offense", if you know what I mean, and may want to do it even forcefully in some extreme cases.

Should've figured that one out… There are bad people all over the world, after all…
And best way to avoid this is…?

Well for starters, don't seek out sexual partners in unsafe areas, or in areas you know next to nothing about.
My second advice is to call the date off if the partner is too forceful or doing something he's not supposed to. If that fails, do anything you can to put a stop to it. Call the cops, run, scream, do literally anything that'll discourage them!

You're making this sound way scarier and more dangerous than this actually is, Heidi… I mean, not to underplay on the risks, but things like that happen very rarely!

Yes, of course, that's true. It's fortunately very rare, especially here, and you shouldn't find any trouble with the locals here, but around the big cities for example, where the knowledge about what we're doing is not as widespread as here in the boonies, it becomes more likely and a lot riskier. Sure, kids like us exist even in big cities, but my advice would be to not, so don't think about it if you plan to go on a family holiday.

That's all good advice. Thanks. Anything else in regards to dangers?

No, not really. How about you? Got any more questions?
