Invasion!/Varselavesh/Forest Hill, Indiana
There's More than Corn in Indiana
You pilot your craft expertly to the southern part of the state on Indiana, where the flat expanse of the north gives way to the hills of ancient glacial debris covered with forest. The leaves on the trees are just starting to turn colors, making the whole thing look a bit muddy; but you know in a few weeks that the canopy will be breathtaking. You carefully guide your craft to the small outpost your people had set up in a hill overlooking a creek. It's good that the Kreshnakel Institute of Xenology had already been interested in Earth. Having bases already set up made things a whole lot easier.
You wait as the top of the hill parts, revealing the docking port below. You feel the tingling vibration of the holographic camouflage in your antennae, and feel secure that you are unobserved by any earth satellite or passing aircraft. The stifling effect your skinsuit has on your antennae is a bit uncomfortable; and even with the amplifiers installed in the suit, your senses of hearing and smell are still a bit dampened. A small price to pay, all things considered.
You glide your ship in to dock, and wait for the hatch to close fully before exiting the ship. You exit the hanger through the secret door into the rural home that is set into the side of the hill. You remove your "smartphone" and scan the area with the disguised omni-scanner. Finding no signs of tampering or other races, you put your scanner away.
You had been working on securing a position as a teacher for each of your team on the way to Earth; but finding a teaching job near one of your bases was quite a challenging task. As it was, for your Indiana base you had to get creative. You discovered a certain penchant in a local teacher to buy lottery tickets. With a bit of probability mathematics and a supercomputer you were able to determine the next ticket's winning numbers, and clandestinely feed them to her via her social networking.
It all worked perfectly. The teacher had won the lottery and quit her job, opening up the opportunity for you to secure her vacant position. Your resume has been sent, and you have had your phone interview. The school board had run a background check and found the information you fed to the Earth databases . . . that only leaves the in-person interview, and you are set. The interview isn't until morning however, so you busy yourself cleaning the house that will have to serve you for the foreseeable future. When it starts getting late, you make your way to the bedroom and fall to sleep.
Tommorow you will secure your position at:
- Maple County High School: all those teenage wombs waiting to be filled.
- Maple County Middle School: still young enough to influence, but old enough to knock-up.
- Willow Creek Elementary School: nice and impressionable, and while not old enough to get pregnant, they have a better chance at having young fertile mothers . . . and one can always practice.
