Sally knew it was silly to play around when she had just lost her last piece of clothing, but the idea of collecting treasure she spotted through a telescope was too appealing. Certainly more appealing than walking towards those teens to try and get her shirt back.

She took one more look through the telescope to try and fix the shiny object's location in her mind. She still couldn't figure out what it was, but she'd find out soon enough. She carefully made her way back down the climbing structure, feeling very exposed indeed. She might have been naked for a few minutes already, but she hadn't known she was naked until she spotted her top in the bushes, and that made all the difference. She told herself being naked wasn't that much worse than being half naked, but it didn't do much good. Even if the shirt hadn't covered much, it was still the difference between being under-dressed and naked. And naked was definitely worse.

As she left the playground behind, she took one more glance in the direction of the teens. They were harder to make out from the ground, but it looked like they were all still seated at the table and paying her no attention. That was something at least. Looking back towards the "treasure" she couldn't see anything, but she kind of expected that and headed in that direction anyway. It was towards the trees and away from the teens if nothing else.

It seemed like a very long way, but that was probably just because she was completely naked in the middle of a public park.

No, she must have missed it. She was almost all the way to the trees. Courage starting to fail, she made a dash from them. Once in cover again she sat on a rock to think, letting out a gasp as her bare butt made contact with the cool stone. Nothing had gone right since she got up that morning, and she was temped to just sit there and feel miserable, but that wouldn't get her home, would it? She had to get it together. As she looked around, she noticed something: From where she sat she could easily see the telescopes way up in the lookout tower, and none of them were pointing at her!

One of them should be pointed at the shiny object she spotted, so that meant she must have gotten a little off track. Feeling pleased with herself for figuring that out, she resolved to make one more attempt at finding her mystery object. Keeping in the cover of the trees, she walked until the nearest telescope lined up with her position again. Now she'd just have to walk back towards the playground. It should be about half way, she thought. Of course stepping back into the sunlight was nerve-wracking, but she felt like she had to prove it to herself that she could do something right. So she started walking.

As she neared the halfway point, she forced herself to slow down and scan the ground carefully. She was painfully aware of how exposed she was here, but there was no sense giving up when she was this close. And then, at last, she saw something. She almost stepped on it in fact. But from this angle it didn't look shiny at all, in fact it was black. Wait, that was a cellphone! Sally couldn't believe her luck. It wasn't quite pirate treasure, but under the circumstances, this might be even better. At least if it stilled worked. But first she had to get back out of sight. Prize in hand, she ran back to the safety of the trees as fast she could.

She sat on a rock once more (bracing herself for the cold this time), and examined the phone. She wasn't very technically inclined, but her father had given her his old phone when he upgraded a couple years ago (it didn't have service anymore, but she could use it at home), so she she knew how to turn it on at least. And turn on it did! That must mean someone lost it just recently. They would probably be really glad to get it back, but first thing's first. She needed to call home.

There was a problem though. It was asking for a PIN. Her brother's phone had that too, and he wouldn't tell her what was either. One time she'd tried to guess it, but she didn't have any luck, and after a few wrong guesses it started making her wait a minute between attempts. So that was probably no use. She tried 1234, just in case, but it didn't work. Then she noticed a button that said "Emergency Call", and this certainly seemed like an emergency, so she tried that. A dial pad came up, but when she tried calling home it just said "Must be an emergency number". Maybe finding this phone hadn't been such a great stroke of luck after all.

She knew she could call 911 of course, and the police would surely come help a lost naked girl, but that meant more people seeing her. She was considering whether she was out of better options, when she noticed one more thing. Above the keypad it said "Emergency Contact: Paula Beckett". That last name actually sounded familiar. She didn't pay a lot of attention to last names, except for teachers, but she vaguely recalled hearing Beckett somewhere. But she also had a sinking feeling that it might be the one girl in her school that she actually disliked: Silvia. If so, this was probably her mom. She wasn't sure though, maybe it was one of her brother's friends, or from soccer practice, or well, anywhere. But it was a woman at least, that might be less embarrassing than calling the police.

What did she do?
