Faye is one of Yuu's older sisters and one of the three founding members of his harem.
Personality
Faye has always had a strong caretaker streak to her. For as long as any of her siblings can remember she has taken care of a number of pets, including hamsters, hedgehogs, and fish. Yuu has always enjoyed visiting her room, and she eventually enlisted him in helping with the maintenance on her fish tank each week.
She'll gladly watch Yuu or Minako play video games, and even occasionally join in, but is ultimately mostly disinterested in games, with one notable exception. She's actually always enjoyed playing Pokemon with Yuu, and currently usually carries a 3DS around with her in order to play it, along with Animal Crossing and Nintendogs. When she was younger she also had some fun with some old virtual pet games Natsu had on the family computer.
She has taken a year off after high school, trying to decide what she wants to study in college. She really wants to be involved in the care of animals as a profession, but does not think she could get through the anatomy classes that would be necessary to become a veterinarian, and doesn't particularly want to do farm or ranch work. Her year being up and still unsure of what to take, she's defaulting to just getting her core classes out of the way.
History
While she was too young for her to remember it now, she was incredibly excited when she was told she was going to have a younger sibling. From the time Yuu was born, she made the effort to play and dote on him as much as she could; in her mind, she wanted her new brother to like her as much as she liked her own older sister. While she continued this to an extent with her younger sisters, and later on her niece, Yuu was always the one who held a special place to her.
When she found out that Yuu had started going out with Valen, she was initially disappointed in herself; she had thought to congratulate Yuu, but the words got caught in her throat. When she found out Minako was distraught, she tried scolding her, only for Minako to throw it right back at her. Minako accused Faye of being in love with Yuu too, and though she tried to suggest the idea was ridiculous, Minako claimed that it had been clear to her for years; especially now, because of how sad Faye was despite the supposedly 'good' news.
She hadn't thought much of it, but Minako's words forced her to contemplate it for the first time. She really hadn't been on a date since she was 16, and hadn't thought about it as a priority since then. She had figured it was just school and home obligations simply taking priority in her life, but as she tried to think of herself with a man in the future, her imagination kept putting Yuu there; and when she tried to force herself to try and think of someone else, she was shocked to find herself pining.
She decided to go into Yuu' room and turn off her rational mind; to get there and see what her heart told her to do, as a test to see if she really did feel that way about him. She knew she had her answer when she reached him and silenced her mind; her heart took over and she kissed him.
Character Conception
When I first started working out characters for this story, I knew from the start that I wanted one idealized, impossible to find in reality supportive sister types. After that, I just kind of came up with traits as they occurred to me.
Her appearance was designed to be as similar as I can remember to an Artificial Girl 3 character I made ages ago and long ago lost due to various computers of mine dying, back before I had any sort of decent backup practices.
