That morning was a hectic morning for sure.

After they woke up Luna wasted no time running from her parents' room to get ready. She only knew the basics about being an adventurer, that they traveled across Luminia by foot, wagon, or beast, taking jobs where they're offered for anything from treasure hunting to taking down a bandit camp, but wasn't very knowledge able in the finer details. Thankfully, that didn't matter much as she recalled how she just had to show up like she was last night.

Luna paused.

Then she looked down.

She hadn't been wearing trousers last night.

They never said anything, but she was certain they, like everyone else who looked her way in the tavern, had noticed her "dress" she was wearing last night, and how it showed off her slim legs. Samuel was the only one she knew for certain to know about dark elf culture, given he knows about apprenticeships, but he most likely wasn't aware dark elves don't wear undergarments otherwise he definitely would've made a comment about how dangerously short her "dress" was. If she showed up in trousers now, it would lead to an uncomfortable conversation about what happened last night, and that is not how she wanted this new chapter to begin.

That only left one option.

Making sure her door was closed she swiftly stripped off her clothes she slept in, revealing her bare body to the room. She may have been on the cusp of puberty, but for a dark elf that phase lasted a long time, and not only did she reach this stage of development just last month, she likely wouldn't actually start puberty for another few years, most likely five, but possibly longer. As such she was currently in the stage where her body was overall slim and underdeveloped, as evidenced by her completely flat chest and the practically non-existent curve of her hips, yet began showing signs of sexuality such as the hardly-there, white stubble of pubic hair above her puss or the ever so slight swell of her bottom.

The end result was a girl who was obviously prepubescent, yet had a strange, erotic aura about her.

After tossing her clothes in the basket beside her dresser the naked elf opened the top drawer. She searched through them until she found her favorite article, an olive green tunic with a mustard trim, colors she'd been told looked nice on her by others. She didn't agree nor disagree, but it was still her favorite piece of clothing to wear. She slipped on the short sleeved tunic before reaching to to grab her favorite accessory, a brown strip of cloth with a buckle that went over her tunic and rested at her hips. While it seemed to be a simple belt for her tunic, it was actually an incredibly strong rope, several meters long and folded over in such a way to disguise itself as a belt; a memento of her grandfather.

Slipping it on and adjusting it until it sat sung around her waist, she closed her dresser and, with much reluctance, slipped on some socks, followed by her boots, then finally her borrowed cloak. There was only one solution she could think of to keep both her parents and her soon-to-be companions from getting suspicious, and that was to forgo trousers and keep her cloak wrapped tightly around her. This way her parents wouldn't question her lack of trousers, and the others wouldn't realize that she should have been wearing some last night.

Leaving the hood down while holding the cloak closed from the inside, Luna left her room, giving it one last look, not knowing when she'll return. She knew things could literally change overnight with apprenticeships, but she didn't think it'd happen to her. Yes, she felt nervous and melancholic at the prospect of moving on, but like all dark elves her age she had prepared for this possibility being a necessity, and was able to quell those feeling by instead focusing on her excitement as she turned away and moved down the hall. However, that excitement was almost completely replaced by nervousness when she reached the front door where her parents were waiting, acutely aware of how exposed her legs felt under her cloak.

"Ready?" her dad asked.

"Y-Yes, absolutely!"

With a final nod the three left the house, her parents having decided to escort her and meet the adventurers themselves. Given how much their daughter feared non-dark elf strangers, they trusted her judgment of these people but still wished to meet who she would be traveling with and get a good read of them for themselves. For as xenophobic as dark elves tended to be, they were able to trust strangers by using their attunement with the world around them to get a general read of others, if they were good, bad, devious, prideful, etc., and Luna's parents wanted to be certain their little girl would be safe not just with them, but around them.

The trio ascended the different levels of their neighborhood until reaching a single, straight staircase leading to the surface and began climbing. From the moment they left the house Luna had been nervous enough being next to her parents while bottomless under her cloak, but as the reached the top and stepped out into the early morning light the nervousness increased several fold as now she lacked the additional cover provided from the dark. Thankfully, the streets were empty for the most part as most citizens were sleeping off the intense party that had been held the night before.

Because of this the walk through the town was oddly quite, and the three observed the chaotic mess left behind all across the city from the festival. Even though Luna remembered crossing a large distance last night, it wasn't too long before they arrived at the same tavern she had visited last night and stepped inside.

Unlike last night, the place was practically abandoned. Only a few tables held customers, a single waitress was walking about, and Mr. Smitt was still standing behind the front counter. If not for the different shirt he wore Luna would've thought he remained there all night. She sent him a small wave, but he didn't seem to notice, causing her to once again question the usefulness of his glasses. They scanned the room, and Luna saw the four familiar faces just as they saw her.

"Luna!"

It was Ondir who saw her first. Immediately after his exclamation the others all looked her way and smiled, rising to meet her as she dashed over, her parents right behind her.

"I'm very glad to see you again, Luna," Samuel said. "I take it these are your parents?"

"That's right!" She turned to the adults in question. "Mom, Dad, that one who just spoke is Samuel, the healer is Wen, over there's Ondir, and that's Lunok in the back."

Luna stepped aside so the adults could all greet each other, grabbing a seat on a chair as they shook hands and struck up conversation. The adventurers were a bit nervous, they didn't plan on recruiting a child originally and were trying their best to make a good impression. Luna's parents, however, were quite shocked as their daughter neglected to mention that they were all men. As they all spoke, Samuel speaking for the group and giving a rundown of how they were planing on carefully training Luna and starting her off with some harmless tasks, the two dark elves were carefully observing them all to see what they were really like.

Samuel was serious and professional, they could tell he was a man use to making plans and following them through to the letter, and that above all else he was a man of his word. Wen gave off an air of care and concern, fitting for a healer, and possessed high confidence in his abilities, maybe a little too much but not to the point of endangering others. Ondir was an odd mixture of carefree and serious, carefree in the pleasures of drink and revelry yet serious in the field of battle, a balance difficult to maintain for others, but not for him. Lunok was very quiet and reserved, inside and out, someone who observed everything carefully before taking action, someone who put great effort into not making a fool of themselves.

The two dark elves stealthily shared a look that spoke volumes. They were surprised to find four men here to be sure, but could see the honor within them, and knew they would take care of their precious girl.

"Well," said Luna's dad with a smile. "I think we've heard enough to feel at ease."

"We'll be trusting you to take care of our daughter," his wife continued for him.

"Don't worry," said Samuel. "You have our word, we will watch over Luna until confident enough in her training that she can take care of herself."

He made a fist and held it over his chest as he spoke, the other repeating the motion. Satisfied with their response, the elves turned to Luna, who rose from her chair without prompting and approached them. They both got down and they all wrapped their arms around one another in a big hug.

"Goodbye sweetie."

"We love you."

"I love you too."

They shared in that tender moment for a second longer before separating, Luna hastily closing her cloak before they saw beneath it. With a final smile to their daughter and a nod to her new caretakers they departed, not knowing when they'll see their daughter again, but remaining happy for her in starting on her new path. Luna stared at the door where her parents exited, already a deep sadness forming in her heart.

A hand grasping her shoulder startled her, and she looked up to see Samuel softly smiling down at her.

"Don't worry Luna, you'll see them again before you know it."

The simple words were comforting to the girl, the sadness fading as her excitement began returning.

"Well now, let's get going before Mr. Smitt charges us for another day," Wen joked.

The others laughed in agreement and gathered up their gear, the quartet, along with their newest member, leaving the tavern behind them as they set out.

Where shall they head first?
