Sally breathed a sign of relief. Sneaking across the classroom had been strangely exciting, but she was really glad it was over... except it wasn't exactly over, she realized. Here she stood in the hallway wearing nothing but her shoes and socks. There was no one in sight at least, but even during class time she couldn't count on the halls remaining completely empty.

She was really curious what James had given her though, he must have a better plan than just this, he had to. Carefully, she unfolded the post-in note and discovered it was wrapped around a key, and there was more writing on the sticky side.

I'm sorry Sally, it was too risky for you to stay there. This is a key to the Janitor's Closet. If you can get there without being seen you'll be safe. I'll come get you after school lets out.

That was a good plan, she thought. Only one problem. She didn't really know where the janitor's closet was. At first, she optimistically assumed it must be nearby, but as she looked around, it became clear it would not be that easy. She already knew what all the doors visible from her current position lead to: the principal's office and staff room were at the end of the hall, and the rest were classrooms.

She briefly wondered if the janitor's closet could be inside the staff room, but she decided it would be too risky to look. So, with no other options, she cautiously advanced in the other direction, towards bend that lead to the long side of the building. It felt so weird walking down the hall naked, mostly scary, but a weird thought popped into her head. If she knew she wouldn't get caught this would be kind of fun.

Unfortunately, she didn't have time to analyze these feelings, because no sooner had she peeked around the corner than she heard a door open, behind her. The hall ahead was wider and felt even more exposed, but it looked to be clear at the moment, so she rounded the corner without a second thought.

But now Sally was really in trouble. Someone was presumably coming the same way she'd just been, and if she hadn't been seen already, she didn't have very long to get out of sight. Definitely no time to check doors for one labeled janitor's closet. She tried to remember everything that was on the upper floor, but the only thing that came to mind as a good hiding place was the restroom, and that was all the way at the other end of the hall. She could also go downstairs, but that seemed very risky. She was about to make a run for the girl's room when she realized she had another option right in front of her. The boy's room was on this side. She hesitated a moment. Even compared to her current predicament, the thought of going in the wrong bathroom was be embarrassing... but it was right there.

She decided she had no more time to waste, she just prayed it would be empty. Unconsciously holding her breath, she opened the door, and went in. Like the girl's room, it was set up with a wall directly in front of the door so you couldn't see in from the hall, and it wasn't until she peered around this to confirm no one was inside that she started breathing again. It looked a lot like the girls room, except there was of course a row of urinals against one wall. How did boys just pee in the open like that, she wondered.

But she had more pressing concerns, it wouldn't due to get caught in there, even if she weren't naked, so she quickly concealed herself in one of the stalls. She wondered how long she should wait before resuming her search in the hall. But she wasn't waiting long at all when she heard the restroom door open. She stifled a gasp. Oh no, had someone seen her come in?

Sally waited for the for the inevitable confrontation, but instead all he heard was a belt being unbuckled and a zipper. She peeked through the gap next to the door and saw an older boy at one of the urinals. In some ways, this was the most normal thing in the world, but she couldn't believe she was watching a boy pee, though he was of course facing away. Maybe that explained it, how they can get by with urinals, she thought. They really don't have to undress at all. It must be nice.

She also realized he had likely been the person she heard open a door behind her. That meant when he left he would probably go back the way he came and she could safely leave. But was that the best plan? Maybe she should stay put for a bit and try to collect her wits. It was also tempting to just keep hiding there. In about an hour and a half the school would be deserted, and she could sneak out, or maybe find James. He would probably keep looking for her she thought. On the other hand, if someone did find her, the boy's bathroom was the worst possible place to get caught. How would she ever explain that? Maybe it was best to get moving after all.

What did she decide to do?
