The Beginning(WIP)

Arman was not sure when exactly he came to be like this. Or what exactly he was. All he had was a name, and fleeting memories of who he might have once been. A gathering of desperate men in a dark den. The clattering of wooden dice. The flash of knives, and a few horrific moments of stark terror. If Arman had a body he would have shuddered. But he had no body. He was a mind adrift in an endless dark abyss. He was bored, so terribly bored. And soon, he supposed, he'd go mad. Arman had tried a great number of things to keep him preoccupied. He played games of Kings and Corsairs as both sides. He'd even counted up to Nine hundred and ninety million before couldn't bear it any longer. He was and he wasn't. Until suddenly he was.

Not that it was easy to tell. He was still surrounded by darkness. He still did not hear, nor smell nor taste. He did however feel, though not in the traditional sense. He hungered, though he had no stomach. He had no limbs, but in a way he *could* reach out, like casting a net. And he caught things, invisible things. Glimmering sparks of ether were swept towards his 'self' which he greedily consumed. How one consumes without a mouth he wasn't quite certain. Perhaps the better word would be absorbed. How he knew how to absorb these strange particles was strange to him, as was the notification that seemed to shake his very essence.

...Reincarnation? Dungeon Core? ... Menu?

Arman was shaken once more as a simple menu appeared before him. Why did he know what a menu was? Arman decided that was a question for later, and instead went about studying it.

Arman - Lvl 1 Black Core - Menu

  • Status
  • Abilities
  • Inventory
  • Create

Arman supposed there was no harm in investigating the Abilities tab. That was until he was accosted by a massive menu. It presented what must have been thousands of options for abilities. Each of them seemed to have a rating of rarity which scaled from crippling, to godly. Granted, at least 99 percent of them were locked. This left him common with options like 'Fertile Soil' which promised increased plant growth, and 'Misty Abode' which spoke of a slight visibility hamper.

And then there was the 'Wheel of (Mis)fortune.' Honestly, for Arman there was really no other choice. Double the abilities no matter what, and an a completely unweighted, completely random draw?

Arman couldn't resist.

Warning: This choice cannot be undone. Four abilities will be chosen at random, and you will be unable to reassign them

Do you wish to continue?

Yes.

Assigning Abilities
Ability Gained: Dungeon Laws You gain the ability to enforce physical laws upon the plane of existence that lies within your domain. Custom Laws will cost more mana, depending on the complexity

Alert: Pre-made Dungeon Laws added to potential Abilities list

Ability Gained: Dungeon Law: Lambs to Lions Your dungeon will bar entrance to any above the (equivalent) age of 14. They will be unable to speak of their experience within the dungeon, but they will remember.

Ability Gained: Luck of the Draw The dungeon is not bound by conventional progression or theme. Monsters and creatures available to the dungeon will be selected at random from a global list of dungeon monsters upon a core leveling up. Monster level is irrelevant.

Ability Gained: Deviant You gain more mana for subduing and defiling invaders. Creatures and monsters will be modified to reflect this change. You also gain mana for any other sexual escapades which occur within your dungeon.

Ability Assignment: Completed

This was not what Arman had in mind. However there was no crying over spilled milk. He hadn't gotten any crippling attributes, and he was getting Hungry.
