Humans are the most sexually promiscuous among the races that are considered to be "conservative." Although they are the most sexually promiscuous, there is a VERY wide gap between the sexual promiscuity of humans and the sexual promiscuity of beast-folk who are considered to be the most conservative of the promiscuous races. As such, humans are considered to be the standard on which a race is considered to be conservative or promiscuous. If they mature faster and are looser with sex than humans, they are considered promiscuous. If they grow slower and are less inclined toward sex than humans, they are considered conservative.
Humans are a race that hits that perfect medium between a high fertility and also a high mental capability. This perfect intersection has allowed humans to become the dominant race on the planet, outsmarting and dominating by force of civilization over the more promiscuous races, and outbreeding and dominating by force of number over the more conservative races. That said, a human's intelligence is not to be underestimated among the more conservative races. Due to the bell-curve effect, humans are able to produce a large enough number of moderately intelligent individuals who can specialize in just one area well enough to even out-compete the members of what are considered to be the more intelligent races such as the elves. Elves are only more intelligent in that they have a wider birth of knowledge, but even an elf can rarely compete with a human in their specialized field.
Due to their conservative-leaning nature, humans tend to value their children. However, due to their high fertility, they do not value their children so much as to make it unthinkable for an unscrupulous human to attack a child for the purpose of sexual pleasure, an act that would simply not be done among the more conservative races such as the elves. Such individuals are considered to be as heinous among human society as they would be in any other conservative humanoid race. However, since such individuals are far more common among human culture than among any other conservative humanoid race, humans are known to teach their children from an early age to be aware of such individuals. Human parents tend to be especially cautious about the possibility of this and are known among the conservative races as being the most knowledgeable in terms of how to instruct a child on the subject of sexual education, both in terms of teaching the child how to defend themselves against such an attack and also in teaching them how to avoid an unwanted and damaging unplanned pregnancy.
Caretakers for human children should be aware that it is not unheard of for human children to be sexually molested by their own parents. The signs of sexual molestation may be hard to spot, but human caretakers who have built up an awareness of this problem tend to be the sharpest of any race in picking up these subtle signs, although even in that case it is often hard to spot. As such, any care facility should have at least one (preferably more) human care-taker who is trained to recognize the signs of sexual abuse in children.
